Earned 10 tutorial bricks, game shows 9/10 and now we're stuck??? XBox One

Can someone give me some help? My kids (4 and 6yo) got this game for Christmas and we have played through the tutorial but it seems like bugs are killing the ability to progress on to discovering random small worlds.

The last gold brick of the tutorial (so brick #10 of 10) was to get the copy tool and copy the gingerbread house. OK, done, great, whatever. Now we have 10 bricks and load the PUG-Z, the narrator comes on says we can go anywhere now, discover new worlds, etc. We go in the ship, spend 10 bricks to unlock the random world finder and start generating worlds - here's where the problems started: there is no option to GO to any of the worlds. I have tried EVERY button on the controller including clicking down on the joysticks and nothing lets us travel to any selected random small world.

I saved and exited and reloaded since that seems to be the fix for most of the stupid bugs in this game. Now we're stuck forever, suddenly we are back at 9 gold bricks but there are no gold brick quests left to complete. The last quest is still half active in Candyland - in that we don't have the copy tool in inventory and it's back in the crater. But after we pick it up the gingerbread house copy quest doesn't exist, but there sits our copied version from when we completed it originally. It seems like now there are no more gold brick quests and the game has us locked into 9 earned so we can no longer unlock new worlds. Yes, I have rechecked all 3 Candyland quests, there are no NPCs with gold bricks anywhere.

Please tell me there is a fix for this (other than power cycling which hasn't worked) so I don't have to spend 5 more hours doing all of this over again in a new game with no guarantee it will even finish the tutorial mode again??

Possibly related: what are all the pink circles that now show up on the Candyland HUD? There seem to be beacons in these locations but they disappear when I reach them.

Off the top of my head:

When you enter the PUG-Z, the galaxy map opens.
The left-most button with the magnifying glass symbol is the "Find a Random World" button.

The pink circles could be the waypoints you've set.

To answer your main question.
You would have to "Find a Random World" Then you would press X on your gamepad, then press the goto world button. I think.
