Am I Missing Something Really Obvious?
I recently purchased Lego Worlds but I'm stuck. I finished the first three tutorial worlds without any problem. It's dumped me now into a random snow world where finding gold blocks takes a very very long time; so long that I think I must be missing something that should be obvious. There are no indicators on my map where gold blocks might be hiding, there are only two quests, neither of which award gold blocks, I have located every treasure chest in the world and have been awarded all sorts of design patterns, but no gold blocks. The only gold blocks I have found have been when random monsters appear and I have catch them. I've played for hours but only have 15 gold blocks total to show for my efforts. Any idea what I'm missing?

If there are no gold brick quests on a given world, then just go to another one. After finishing the first three tutorial worlds, it unlocks small worlds and certain biomes that you can now travel to freely.

Clicking on the little Pug-Z in the lower-left corner of the galaxy map brings up a bunch of options, including two for "locate a specific world" and "find a random world". Use that to find new worlds and just keep hitting them until you hit the next level of builder. The more gold bricks you collect, the higher your rank will go, and the freedom you will gain.

im stuck here also. i am at 15 bricks. and cant move to the next world till i get 20. Unless of course i purchase new worlds (i see why they did this now). the missions i have left are only for coins.
I try and go to the galaxy map to find new worlds, and there are no options for jumping into whatever is located. i can scroll through maybe a max of 4 new worlds and thats it. But there are no prompts to jump in them. its like this on my PC version, and for some unlucky reason on my xbox version. Also if you are planning on getting a console version it has tons of corrupt save issues. Right now the xbox version i have wont even let me jump between worlds unless i save and quit and then choose on the start menu on where i want to go and im only 3 worlds in!! (i was hoping to play online with my friends kids on xbox, but that is a seperate issue that is also preventing me from joining anyone.)
the few missions that are remaining are camera missions on that christmas world i think. and i cant seem to find the object they want to get a pic with. I have been told that i have to find the wanted object on another world (that of course i cant get to because of not having enough blocks, and not being able to move to a random world) and then come back and produce it and get the picture. But there is yet another issue of the game not recognizing the picture because its just not perfect enough or the right angle or in the right location, etc etc.
This is really frustrating. So i guess its just going to sit there.
I have stopped playing and my friends kids have already dumped the game since they cant just build until later in the game after they have collected enough gold bricks.

Now, one source of gold bricks that you need to know about is chests. The big ones, not the little ones. There are many of them buried underground but due to a change to the game they are no longer highlighted on the map with a big beam of light. So, look for caves and go exploring and even consider a bit of digging.

Oh, and poster above, you might want to let your friends kids know that they can use sandbox mode to build with all the bricks if they don't want to play adventure mode. So, no gold bricks needed.

The large chests are no longer indicated by beacons in the world, but they will show on your mini-map as icons.

That is one thing left out of the initial tutorials. They show you where the PUGZ icon is, and have you open it once, but don't really advise you to use it to create new Random worlds. That is the key, though. Explore a random world, look all over it until you've gotten 100% (don't use vehicles - you may miss gold brick quests that way). When you've emptied a world, go back to your ship, and create a new random world.
You can also get world seeds from other players and the wiki(s).

Thank you for posting this. I couldn't figure this out as well. Never thought about clicking on the spaceship.
