So any Minifigure you make in the customizer can also be made real. Made your favourite? order the parts from Bricklink and you can have it on your desk.
Personally I don't think the game is fully capitalizing on this relationship with the physical, I suspect most players aren't even aware of it. So it would be fair to argue for just dropping it altogether, but to me it feels like a very purposeful design decision with plenty of potential, it just needs to find the right ways to take advantage of it.
A good example of doing that is in the LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame, when you unlock a character it's revealed by dropping it out of a blind bag like a collectible minifigure. Of course that wouldn't make much sense in the context of the LEGO Worlds discovery system but I think the aim for presentation should be a constant bombardment of reminders that this isn't just digital. Not because you would forget but as a stylistic identity.
Something else I really liked in the Marvel Super Heroes 2 demo is that each character has an info sheet, with backstory and ability data.
I would love that for LEGO Worlds, tell me what theme something came from, year released, which set, number of parts, heck include box art. Maybe I'm weird but that's the kind of details I would appreciate, like a built-in mini wiki.
For the customizer above all else I would like the option to select animation set, voice/soundfx, and ability seperately from the head part. I really like the unique jump styles of many of the different characters but not being able to mix and match those feels like a waste.
Also having regular minifigures move like a robot is hilarious. Huzzah modding
how cool would it be to have a vampire breathe and walk underwater as well as fly like a bat?
Additionally in reality those cloth parts attach between the hips and the torso, the choice to associate them with the legs makes little sense. I get that adding a separate category for a minifigure part we only have 3 of is just wasting space but if it has to be combined then surely it should be with the hip part right?
Yes, I would like those to be separated too.
I mean, look at capes. When the game came out of EA we only had like four, two of which being hard character unlocks only a small amount of people knew about. I dont think saying theres only three is a valid argument they could really use
I believe the reason capes is a separate category from attachments is because it doesn't raise the head, attachments are incompatible with beards and capes, but capes and beards can be used together.
Ironically if they were to add the classic style plastic cape[www.bricklink.com] it would have to go in the attachment category for that reason.
Anyway cloth skirts are internally already a separate item, it's just that they aren't shown in the interface like that. So I assumed the reason they didn't do that is simply because there aren't many cloth skirt parts so it would never become a category offering much choice. Switching the association from legs to hips shouldn't be much work.

Edit: The skeleton shouldn't be able to wear a skirt because its torso and hips are one part, it's just to illustrate that the game can handle skirts separately already.
I actually completely forgot about those old plastic capes, but as for the skirt pieces, that hopefully means that one day we might just see them in their own category
And 15 hours after I say this a 4th cloth skirt is added :P
