Have you actually seen them spawn there after the world loaded in or do you just encounter them there after being away for a bit? I suspect they clipped through a part of your cage and just wandered there. Can you share a screenshot of the cage causing issues or is it all of them? that would hint at a game problem. Maybe the the cage wall is on a chunk boundary and animals are saved on the neighboring chunk when the world unloads.
This could have many reasons. Hostility is possible within the same species and then they end up killing each other. Maybe something dodgy is happening to world loading and the animals do end up spawning before it's finished ending up underground and despawning? You can test this by removing the space below to the cage floor to bedrock.
But it's also important to note there is a cap on player spawned entities which is shared between characters, creatures, and vehicles, the game gives precedence to newest entity when the cap is reached. I recall it was 20 player spawned entities per 8x8 chunk area but I haven't tested it in the current version.
I suspect this is intended to stop them from displaying all sorts of glitchy movement when flying between trees.
I have this problem too. We will have to wait for bug fixes. It's strange though, the prop system in Worlds seems to be the same used in all TT LEGO games, nothing is new except for allowing us to place them, it should have a strong foundation. Maybe it's just not integrating well with the brick system. But I don't understand why it's even taking brick collision into account for player spawned objects.
You can remove any entity regardless of its discovery status by going into Free Build, Objects, and right clicking the thing you want removed.
