(I'm not recommending anyone do that.) I'm recommending that it should be a toggle and quality of life feature for those with a stable system. For those prone to crashing (PS4 users) it should be able to be toggled off to protect their time investment. A tiny little switch that would save so much time wasted. People devote hundreds of hours to building their little worlds, they should have an option to protect them from getting destroyed in a save crash.
Want to know what takes away the joy from playing a game? Losing your save file that you spent hundreds of hours on and having to start over from scratch. Not to mention having to grind out 100 gold bricks etc...before you can build again. Oh my. Not a good combo. One that a user toggle for disabling autosaves would help to protect against. I'd make that a priority until I made sure that all the crash bugs and stability issues were sorted out, or you're gonna keep seeing save data corruption issues when the game crashes during an autosave. It's clear this is what is happening to those with the eyes to see.
I don't have autosave lag, but I have a clean system with modern throughput access to a quick SSD. That's not the case for all players and they will suffer access lag. I agree, should be a quality of life toggle for sure.
