You mean the one at the beginning of the game? Of course you have to check them. It's the only way to progress through the tutorial.

Just a headsup, he doesnt mean the rocket crashsite, the first time i played 1.0 i spend 10 minutes dancing around the rocket aswell before realizing thats not what he meant xD (its a poor design choice that the 'comets' can also crash when your in the menu and cant actually see the camera movement/comet)
