At this point, if you can't recover the situation, the best way is to restart from fresh with a new game. Hopefully in the future you know better the game and you don't make again that mistake, anyway, shortly you got other instruments to interact with the world.. for example in a similar situation you can destroy the tower, or move the terrain so you can reach the quest giver, etc etc.. i've done some mistakes during the game (actually i'm a master builder) but with the appropriate use of various tools, i can recover almost any situation, with no need to restart the game. Anyway, remember that in the worst case scenario, in a normal world you can left the world and travel to a new one.. only in tutorial worlds you need to complete some quests to move on.
This game will never become what it should if that remains true.
