Paint the roots of tree fluorescent blue - HELP

So I have a quest to build a tree house, final step is to paint its roots fluorescent blue. No dice! I painted the whole bloody tree and can't complete the quest. What am I doing wrong? Work-arounds?

Prolly using the wrong color, when they ask you to paint a certain color that color should be 'jumping' in the color tab. (goes bigger/smaller with some rotation) so make sure you've picked that color

if it helps I think all the glowing colors look white during selection but say thier name properly. also the bouncing tip is good.

The other likely possibility is that you read the quest but didn't actually accept it.

thanks for all the responses - weirdly i had selected the bouncing one, all i did was reboot the game and it worked fine. onwards!
