2] Check out %appdata%/Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGOWorlds\SAVEDGAMES for the savegames, SLOT1 SLOT2 etc are the character save slots, in CONTENT you can find the worlds that belong to each save (S1-<stuff> is a world save for SLOT1, S2-<stuff> is a world save for SLOT2, etc)
3] Your savefiles will be seperate (since seperate computers and no steam cloud saves) game install directorys are re-used across steam accounts (if account X on computer Y has Lego worlds installed, then account Z on computer Y will use the same lego worlds install) but you wont be able to have them play lego worlds on their pc, when its only installed on yours.
Edit: Reading this again to check if i missed something, i did, your kids CAN actually play Lego worlds on their own PC when its only installed on your PC (and both pc's have steam) but theres a large limitation to this, your PC will be busy, you wont really be able to work on your PC while its streaming the game (open on your desktop) to another, so you really dont want this. Felt like i should mention it tho, so there you go :P
I do already know about how the steaming and family sharing works
Kinds sucks really. Old school way, I would have bought a disk which I could install on multiple computers. I would only be able to play on one computer at a time (needing the disk in to validate), but I could be playing different game on different computers at the same time.
The steam way, I can log into my own account on another computer to install and play a game, but I can't even play a separate game on the same account on a different computer. So for example I can't play ARMA while my kids play LW.
This means that I will need to buy a second copy of LW on a different steam account, not to play two copies of the game in the same instance (I will likely never do that), but just so I can play a different game on my account the same time as the kids play LW.
It's kinda wrong.
I wonder if there is a way to transfer the ownerhsip of the game to the other steam account. That way it can be on 'the kids one', and so when I'm playing my games it won't interfere, and I can just log in and out of the account depending on what computer they are using.
Contact steam support, officially this cant be done, unofficially i've heard they can, and since your a parent talking about your kids, im sure they will listen and try to help.
If we're talkng about keeping separate kids and adults saves - Windows user accounts, as opposed to Steam accounts, seem to be working well for us for this particular game, as it doesn't use the steamcloud.
I have my (windows) user account: and my game saves are going into my user accounts appdata
the boys have their own user accounts and their saves are going into their own appdata folders
so we aren't accidiently saving over each others.
have everthing downloaded, restart steam in offline mode and play. It does however not always give achievments doesn't count you playing time .. and for sure no online games.
maybe this helps - otherwise good look with steam support
