Creating Water?

I have a quest to make a pond so a guy can fish. How do you create water with the terrain tool?

use the paint tool and select river water. have to admit, this had me stumped as well. as it simply wasn't clear how to do this.

Wrong tool, water is "paint." Just paint the spot and it will become water.

there is also the ability to paint "riverwater" with the add terrain tool. It appears in the materials menu when you have the add terrain option selected.

Also theres waterpistol and watergun wich practicly do the same thing as paint water

You can also just follow them to water, use Power miners car that shoots water or use water gun.

Don't you need to discover the ability to paint river water by finding an underground river biome first? Or am I remembering that wrong?
