how to kill a zombie?

hi , sometime i find a gold brick quest and i need to kill 2 zombies while they attack the quest giver, i tried all weapon i have but with no success , all time i die. if i hit the mob, it lose the lives and the heart became grey instead black, sometime i see a little stars around they head.
there is a special weapon to defeat zombie or there is type of weapon to kill the zombies?

Yes, there are a couple of "black" items which have a sparkle effect around them, they do much better damage against zombies. If you can't find one of those, I find that focusing them from afar with bombs or guns is rather effective.

The most famed black item is found in the Cherry Forest Biome which is obtained by trading a Ninja Sword for a Black Katana. Good hunting.

Also, you can build shelters around characters you must protect. That should buy you enough time to use less effective methods of attack. =)

Or, use a firearm. Hold 'F' to go into fine targetting mode, and pick them off before even talking to the victim or getting close. The zombies move slowly so you'll likely finish them off before they get to the victim. Also, even if they do get close to the victim, firearms are much more accurate (if you hold 'F' first) and you probably won't hit the victim.

This is harder with faster enemies such as those on the moon. It is still a good method though.

Worked great! Green slime appears to destroy any object immediately!
