>-- A more saturated blue sky color overall.. I feel that the day sky is too light blue or bright and I believe that a happier blue sky will improve the overall look of the game's atmosphere!
I think the last EA sky color (at least its blue color was nicer)
>-- Ability to.. (remember the lawn mower? it removed grass/studs) grow instant grass (studs) atop bricks...
Green studs do look like grass and so some areas of the floor are to flat.. they need to be filled with studs (LEGO natural grass) and to do that now I'd have to manually put (overlap) 1x1 tiles in it and paint accordingly....
>-- Ability to spawn fish... come on! I wanna rain fish from the sky!!!! nah I just wanna fill my custom made river...
>-- Ability to clip the lantern to our side so that it can still light things up when we are using the build tool or a weapon. (not my suggestion but though was ok)
>-- Ability to create and write on signs to indicate places and titles! (sticker tool)
>-- Ability to delete brick builds
>-- Ability to Share models in MP and delete models in the menu window
>-- Ability to spawn town life (npcs and cars) to our own self made towns, spawn and edit traffic and edit npc driving lines in the cities and towns.
>-- Alphabetical models and props organization/filtering/search field option and or categorization... Sortable and favorite blocks/mounts all within the menus
>-- A Hang Glider! (in case you wanted another flying vehicle idea...)
>-- A hanging upside resting animation for Bats... (the poor little things ar only sleeping on the floor it seems) - btw, you guys did an amazing job on the bat's animations!
>-- A paint tool color picker...
>-- Better item menu model build icons (as of now LDD icons are clearer and sharper)
>-- Bring the pirate world as a biome?...
>-- Brush (Fill): fills up to a chunk (32x32) with a brick type you chose!
>-- Brush (painting) square: if I'm not mistaken there is only the round brush for painting.
>-- Brush (Replace) replaces bricks with another brick of your choice instead of having to waste time manually deleting bricks one by one to replace.
>-- Character animation customizer
>-- Creative Mode... (the 100% gamesave file is actually a creative mode imo)
>-- Co-op seat in the Cargo Plane...
>-- Day/Night control: a cheat to bring day or night or freeze/unfreeze a days cycle!
maybe shooting a clock - ex: Shoot a clock with the ice gun and it freezes time!
>-- Delete(slash)destroy all upper bricks.... (same as the little or articulated digger but all bricks above your head are completely destroyed (think of it as Forest remover)
It could be done via a new vehicle or tool ability
>-- Despawn tool (completely despawns anything from the world for ever - game or user placed)
>-- Differing sea and river colors... See Disney's moana for inspiration!
https://i0.wp.com/media2.slashfilm.com/slashfilm/wp/wp-content/images/moana-singing-boats-shore.jpg
The sea has some amazing colors (sometimes light blue, sometimes mixed with light green... if deeper then natural blue.. etc...) Rivers could either have a greenish tint to them or light caramel probably depending on what type of soil is underneath? if limy rock then greenish if mud then caramel... (my guess)
>-- Disable/enable towns or dungeons on custom worlds.
>-- Fake bricks - great for trolling or hiding or creating traps... they are normal bricks but can be entered through as if you were a ghost... in development the Fake effect is a collision reverse where a player does not collide with said fake bricks... this way most of this idea is an internal code change...
>-- Finger-Free Mouse Camera Control (no more right click holding) yes for now I am using P,L etc. but can we invert that as well via a menu or make the game invert its Y to mimic whatever config we made in the main menu. If I move the mouse UP I like the camera to look down...

>-- Map orientation - An (at least) "N" orientation sign on all game maps.. so we know where North is... another easy alternative (remember when we can get the map to not rotate? well that is fine so then if we make it not rotate, then do not rotate the larger map so we know where we head to)
>-- Mermaids (with long hair)

>-- More torque power to some vehicles
>-- More walkthrough ability on alredy-in plants with swaying animation (ex. Grass thuft, bush and flowers)
>-- Paint animation blocking the view: Please resize to small on the painting animation or make it transparent as it is blocking the view when painting up close when you have a mix of things and you want to paint only certain bricks of the model
The problem is when you click to paint, the messy big paint animation bubbles explode over the view and we cannot see where we are painting.

>-- Press Esc to exit each menu (in the blink of an eye)? ;D
>-- Prop: Beach Parasol with pole (58572)
>-- Rain and thunder clouds which (of course) rain.
The (rain only) clouds would be of a light grey color, the storm clouds would be of a darker grey color and could (besides rain) also produce lightning and thunder.
Note: if you are standing atop a storm cloud, all is fine until it lighs up a lightning...
when lightning occurs, the whole clouds gives of a fast shine and your character does that same animation it does when it hits lava.

>-- Lastly, I~d suggest -
about to be placed bricks need to be solid visible! right now it is transparent.
I also really dislike the ghostly blue wireframe.. for models
it is a bit dificult to place it adjacent or to align things like that.
I~d rather have it show fully and we can be able to move it around and precisely know where it snaps,,, so solid model import to place!
Fix the online multiplayer host controller bug. Crippling too many people.
Need more things to do. Repeating the same handful of quest types over and over gets boring fast.
Straight up creative mode do those who just want to build can.
More things to discover. More variety to POIs. I feel like I'm seeing the same stuff over and over.
More challenge. There's no real consequence to dying.
Better targeting system for combat. Right now it's kind of random.
Organization/filtering/search for the discovery and build menus. It's a pain when you have almost 1,000 discovered objects and you're trying to find just 1.
More power for many of the ground vehicles. Most of them struggle to get up a small hill.
2. Switching between cursor mode and free look mouse mode would be nice.
3. Categories for objects, so we don't have to scroll the list of hundreds.
4. Ability to delete custom brick builds and outfits, also a separate window for custom builds.
5. Turning off trouble makers in custom worlds.
6. More worlds customizations like disabling towns or dungeons.
7. An item that allows fast teleport back to ship.
8. In build tool right mouse button is used to lock the brick to cursor and change to delete mode, it sometimes causes problems.
2. Have a checklist for weapons and characters
3. Have the coords be under the mini map
4. Have an option or button prompt for climbing
5. Add a quest list for each world
Bring back the last used brick bar.
- Auto-target enemies with vehicles and not just other vehicles and scenery objects.
- "Large" vehicles, Lego Airliners, Ships and Pirate ships like the classic Black Seas Barracuda!
- Harbors and Airports for said "Large" vehicles!
- Pirate/Imperial Biome with forts, camps and towns.
- Vehicle Building.
- MORE dinosaurs!
The lego adventurers, the rest of the cast of pharaohs quest,
- switching between tools without having to close the tool first
- SPACESHIP!! A Space biome! Early 90s space sets like Lego Ice Planet 2002 (from 1994) , Space Police (1994), Blacktron characters/models..even earlier space models.
The ablity to build vehicles would be amazing, then we could just recreate the old sets with the right coloured bricks.
That said, is there a skinable baseplates in the game?
Baseplate 2552px1 that came in Ice planet (Set # 6983-1: Ice Station Odyssey) was used in loads of sets, but just painted different.
So baseplates would be a cool thing to add, perhaps!
Right now using objects in your builds is really cumbersome and time consuming, having to repeatedly scroll through the vast menu to find specific ones. If there was a pick mode we could simply build our own palettes of objects and save them as Brick Builds or quickly select previously used objects from the environment. For example a plant palette or a collection of lamps or things to decorate cities with.
However, that being said I do think the game has some glaring issues.
The narrative, milestones, and troublemakers for example; every time I collected gold brick my game essentially involuntarily paused for ~8 seconds. When your character is exposed, your inventory item deselected and anything in progress interrupted it really can incense a player trying to have fun. The narrator repeatedly telling me to do something as I am trying to explore or experiment with the game is also aggravating, it should be a menu item to “remind me what I am supposed to be doing” or toggleable rather than an incessant voice and the troublemakers are very distracting in general and that is fine when you are still collecting parts, but once you have collected them all they, and the sounds and behaviors they present with are simply a nuisance.
I understand that this is both a game with the children's market and consoles in mind and that can encourage a "simple" interface, but the game as is presents more “hardcore or building/modeling” players with an unnecessary obstacle to settings and play. The permanently replayed intro and confirmation for start makes little sense. Play the intro video if the main screen is idled for too long if you keep the confirm for start or remove it after the first launch of the game. OR maybe play it instead at the start of a new save instead of on game launch.
Honestly it would be so much better to have a menu similar to minecraft's launcher: Select profile then be presented with settings, multiplayer, worlds, and other misc. all in one location.
I have not had a reason to keep any specific world around, so I have not had this issue yet, but it is very easy to lose track of created and explored worlds with the current interface. Straightforward text lists would work far better, preferably in a scrolling text list on the side of the current “galaxy map”. Additionally a search feature and rename worlds would also go a long way in helping keep track of worlds.
The control wheel is ineffective as it stands and a “Q,E” cycling system or F1,F2,F3 selection would be much preferable to it. That’s not even mentioning that in first person to access the control wheel you need to be looking straight down or straight up in order to access it.
The build menu and it’s block selection is fine as is, but could benefit for a drop down menu for each type [I.E. click a 2x2 icon and select the length of 2 by X you want], but the “fixtures and fittings” and color selection exemplifies a major issue. You have to wade through EVERY item you have found in order to find anything. There seems to be some kind of sorting to it, but it generally doesn’t seem to help. Again like with the block picking if you could click on a furniture icon and get a menu of just furniture it would go a long way to make the game experience more sane.
A moot point as per the quote below, but still affects my review of the game as it currently exists. Custom keyboard commands are a must, and as it is Q, E, and LMB often perform each other's tasks at random.
Maybe I missed it, but there seems to be no way to make the camera track the mouse movements without holding down the RMB. The first person mode actually works fairly well, especially with the option to change the FOV, but it does not work for standard play unless you hold down the RMB the entire time you use it.
Why is this a thing on the PC version? I understand an aim assist for shooting or throwing objects. However, 3/4 the time when I trying to shoot a specific target my character melee hits something right next to it, a quest giver or just melees at empty space. At the very least there should be an option to be toggle automatic targeting off.
It has definitely come a long way since I have owned early access, but there needs to be a way to make very precise, incremental placement of lego parts that cannot easily be done with mouse/joystick. This is especially obvious and frustrating when using the copy tool because you need to world witchcraft in order to select or deselect bricks in a complex structure like a statue or spaceship.
Additionally the lack of a reflect/mirror setting is unfortunate as it effectively doubles your construction time, and if you build something with left and right versions you might not even be able to finish it until you unlock it.
My last real critique is of the"story" in game. It is not a strong one, but I will admit I think it is probably meant solely for offering structured play for younger players and a grander more in depth story would honestly take away from the core gameplay and mechanics.
As for my suggestions.
Add a camera mode that tracks the movement of the mouse for both first and third person views. Give it a toggle-able reticule to ensure that players know what they are selecting, pointing or aiming at.
Add target cycling and target lock. The first person mode does some things well, but whether it is due to having to hold the RMB down or finicky controls you can not use it in melee combat because you can not track most mobs fast enough.
Make it work through some kind of button(toggle), and by default the first target will be the one that the camera is centered on.
Add a weapon mode toggle button, a secondary firing mode button or both. Too often I get destroyed when I try to shoot a gun, but smack a piece of grass. Or I try to stab something with a spear, but end up throwing it instead. Making the difference between a melee strike, a ranged attack and throwing an object would go a long way in making gameplay less frustrating.
Add dedicated XYZ-axis selection buttons that move the pointer (or selection) in the lowest possible increments for each direction. This would make selecting specific blocks or precise placement much easier.
Decrease the "refresh rate" on the discovery tool. Sometimes I want to buy or scan a bunch of stuff at once and it takes 2-3 times longer than it really should. I once found a mission that wanted me to clear 28 pieces of grass and it took way too long to complete.
Additionally it would be great if a middle click function were added for the discovery tool that selected a already purchased item so you could place a copy it without having to access a menu. [For example: goats, bats, trees, chairs, cars, fences, bushes, windows]
The item selection menus in game are frustratingly basic. But that could be rectified by adding items into main categories. For example:
In the create a world menu add options for the customization that prevents any mobs or dynamic items (breakable items) from spawning “naturally” so that creators have more control.
On that note add a biome type that has no static objects in it at all (e.g. trees, rocks, misc.)
Add a game mode where dynamic objects (breakables) cannot be destroyed. It would be useful for showcasing builds, potential “Adventure” games similar to minecraft’s Adventure more, and for exploring things without worrying about ruining anything.
That's all of my realistic suggestions for now. The last thing I need to say is that this game needs to have mod support. Digital Lego can provide a medium for storytelling that nothing else right now can really compete with. If people are allowed to build on the potential of this title I see it being an amazing, mind blowingly successful title. And I plan on playing with it and building for a long time to come.
I made a dedicated post earlier, so I hope y'all do not mind me reposting it here.
Yes it does. The last tab in the build tool let's you specify color.
He's talking about the Pick Mode in the Build Tool, using mouse and keyboard controls you don't get an option to select the colour from the environment but when using a controller it does give the option.
