Different heart types on enemies

Does anyone know what the different coloured hearts mean on the different enemies? Or what weapons are best for each colour?

As far as I've experienced:

Red = Anything goes. It's easy to kill with any kind of weapon.
Black = Swords like the egyptian one do some damage, also guns like the lasergun, ect.
Gold = seems to be explosive resistent (Megazooka needed about 4 hits b4 killing a troll for example.
Crystal = only tested with laser and explosives. Laser do average damage, explosives do less than normal.

Don't really know much more either.

Actually, I find that simply attacking black heart enemies with bare fists or animal attacks from mounts also works fine. They are resistant to many objects, but some work (like the electric guitar for some reason). Bare fists however seem to be fine against them. Not sure if this is intended or a bug.

Edit: Yes the black katana and the black axe work very well against undead / black hearts. So basiclly black weapon against black hearts, maybe crystal weapons against blue hearts / crystal ones.

I have Crystal Bombs and a Crystal Bow, but have yet to come across enemies with crystal hearts myself, i was wondering what they were for
