There is a quest from the Rocker Girl (Green Dot) in the Weird Woods. It's right next to her.
also for anyone that has gotten all of the things from the treasure chest, the police station build has a few doors & an item to be discovered.
here's the screenshot of the item for mac mccloud: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=885665864
There is a quest in the dunes where you get the desert tent and that other item you are missing. Look for a green dot with the explorer guy near a pyramid. The items are there.
Thanks. It's odd I've looked for many hours. Also, I've done about 65 quests in that world today and haven't seen that quest again so it must be a really rare quest even. I wonder if it ends in a Gold Brick. I'm still trying to find all 200, but I have 14 to go. How many did you get up getting on your file?
When you say they are considered gadgets, do you mean an actual discoverable item?
This is gonna be a lot to read. I type fast so it's not much time for me, but as far reading it goes yeah. Bunch of words.
All the information is there for the dragon eggs, models, behaviors etc...for each color. However. The item/prop "dragons nest" is the only thing I can find other than the Trader's inventory that can spawn the eggs. There is only one named dragon's nest that I can see and it's called VolcanicDragonsNest from the VolcanicWasteland biome. I've checked literally every file I have access to with a find function for either Dragon or Egg or both, to be redundant, as I did initially for the Warlock quests, to be thorough.
When the game creates a biome upon world generation, it has a file it draws upon to "seed" that biome with a list of
Characters
Creatures
Vehicles
Props
Terrain/Landscape items
Quest
Colonies (quests, npcs and towns draw upon colony info as a batch pull type of query, easier to organize a colony with many things and have the theme generator pull on the colony file instead of all the things separately, also easier to debug)
Now, those are the items that can possibly be drawn into the world when a biome is created and how the game figures out how to populate the landscape with interesting stuff.
So it's very easy to see exactly what you will and will not be able to find in any given biome.
And the only "Dragon's Nest" prop is listed in the Default Volcanic biome, as "VolcanicDragonNest". When it spawns it will have piles of gold coins there and skeletons as well, as it clearly shows those spawn with it.
But nothing else to go on other than that info there's nothing else mentioned other than
A dragon's nest has a 100% chance to drop a dragon egg. It's the only thing in it's loot table. Also, that is has an attract/repulse flag. The only thing that is associated with that flag is the warlock.
My idea at this point is that if the thing spawns it's gonna be in the volcanic biome I do not see any other nests anywhere else, other than the eagle's nest placeable.
Although all this makes me think, that since the dragon's egg that drops from the dragons nest isn't named by color, nor does it have any kind of randomizer attached to it to make it select a color from random, it means that only the item "Dragon Egg" will be dropped. Not Dragon Egg White, or Blue, just "Dragon egg". Because it's named as such specifically.
The named colored dragons eggs, are sold individually by the trader, they are named, by color clearly, but they have a locked flag. That means you'd have to have unlocked it first before it shows up in her inventory.
But, and here's the thing I started thinking. IF a plain dragon egg, not named with a color, is thrown into some kind of liquid or terrain type, perhaps it will hatch into a colored dragon dependent on what kind of material you throw it into. For example the dragon egg turns into a red dragon when thrown into lava. So I went down the rabbit hole with that idea and it turns out, that the dragon egg is the only item in the game with the spawning ability. And sad news, when it spawns something, the only thing it is capable of spawning is "BabyDragon_Red."
So a dragon egg, just named dragon egg, with no color associated with it, will only ever spawn a RED baby dragon.
Unless they've changed that recently with the updates they're doing. I'm working with the release files and won't be datamining patch stuff as it consumes too much of my limited time, that honestly I'd rather be in game building as my world needs my attention lol and I'm already at a brick wall with what I can find and I keep checking and rechecking and drawing the same conclusion, which is
The other colored dragon eggs are sold by the Trader. But they have to be unlocked first. There's no indication what one must do to unlock those. There is a volcanic dragon's nest, and it drops a dragon egg. However, since that is just a plain dragon egg, with no color attached, it will spawn a red dragon when activated so it's a waste of time even looking for the nest at this point. The other dragon eggs are named with their respective colors. And the only place I see those is in the Trader's loot table of items that can be sold. They are nowhere else to be seen with what I have available to look at.
I know it's not much to go on but I'm sure T T must rubbing their hands together in glee at how hard these things are to find, because if they do spawn in the game, they sure as hell created a beautiful maze to even find out how to get them spawn even with the guts of the game laid wide open to see.
On the plus note, I learned a lot about some things in the game that are increasing my enjoyment of playing it, knowing for a fact how certain things work, and whether or not they'd be moddable in the future, and cleared up some confusion (while creating more probably) for some people with some of my digging.
With all that said, I'm gonna give the detective work a break as I keep hitting the same walls and I'd rather just be playing, I'm enjoying the hell out building my world and the devs should be lauded at just how much of a technical achievement they've created with this game. It's unreal how much playing it makes me feel like a kid again. I'd truly love for them add more and more features and content to this gem because, once the rough patches are smoothed out...this is it. This is my game, I can build infinitely and as detailed or big as I want to. It will take awhile to catch on though, but when if this game does get critical mass it deserves watch out. It's not about the quest to 100bricks though, that is...ok I guess, it's better than nothing. It's all about the creative build your own world and populate it mode. When you dig your nails into that, it's breathtaking with potential.
The potential this game has is unreal. We need the ability to rotate bricks though, not just on the X axis for sure and categorized placeables menu, man, that is such a huge time waster and kills the building buzz having to pause and search through a thousand items all the time. Also need hinges and the ability to build our own vehicles and paint all the things. And a ton more blocks, like...double what we have in specialty blocks added. Oh and wires/gate logic. (Which totally looks like much of it is in game already and probably going to be a thing by the way) We also desperately need the ability to create our own custom minfigs and drop them in game as NPC's. I want my population to have as much unique character to it as the world I built for them. I want each NPC I place to have their own story. That's what the heart of "playing" with legos is for me. Telling a story.
But firstly and foremostly we need the ability to rotate blocks off the X axis to replicate one of the biggest missing "reality" factors of building with real legos because that only exponentially increase the building freedom right there. Oh and a brick scatter hose gun that scatters a random pattern of the selected brick flat in the world, so you can make cobblestone streets, sand dust, fallen leaves etc...for extra detail would be killer and fit the theme.
Many words, since this is probably the last post from me here as I ran out of spring break time after this weekend. I'll be in the suggestions thread though I'm sure. I have a list lol.
EDIT: the beam turnt suddenly purpel...
Where can I find it? in some prefab building maybe?
