Uplay wipes out saves. Beware.
It has happened twice in row now. I play for hours then exit to windows. When I return it sometimes loads a save that is several days old or one that is about one and a half days old. I've lost about seven hours of play time now. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it fixable? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ software.

Tell Uplay not to sync game saves to the cloud.

This has happened to me before. Detective X is right. Just disable Uplay cloud synce and everything should work fine.

Yeah...even Ubisofts official answer to me was 'disable cloud sync' -.-....

Yeah, I disabled cloud syncs, and it solved the problem for me. I started to make backups anyways though.

If you lost your savegames, just copy the old savegames under User/AppData/Roaming/UbisoftGameLauncher/Number/ into the savegame directory at ProgramFiles/Ubisoft/UbisoftGameLauncher/savegames/Number/Number

I had that happen to me a couple of times. Just restarted the game and i had everything back. I would guess it didn't sync correctly so it used an old savegame from your HDD. The second time the sync worked and i had the correct savegame back.

yup, just turn off cloud saving.

Most of the time when I reload the game it works fine... I was about to lose like 10 hours and I only ended up losing 1 hour

I thought I was loosing the plot yesterday. Fired this up for the first time, played for about three hours, exited and then came back later and I was redoing stuff I had already completed. I spent a good few minutes trying to find the save game feature, got irritated and the exited the game. Thanks for this...I really don't feel like redoing stuff over and over again when its so mundane as I am finding AC2 at the moment

Mr. Lemon Wedge is correct. When the sync loads up a game that's clearly not correct, just restart the game and it will re-sync to the latest save. A little troublesome but honestly only takes at most a minute even with the worst of internets.

thnx for ur replies, also had this problem and stopped playing for a while cos pissed off at no saving. too lazy to check for help or FAQ's :D

Well turning off the sync definately worked, but reloading as others have suggested did not. I think just having it always off is the best way to go.

So will turning off cloud sync actually restore my game? Or will I still have to do everything over again?
YDog Sep 25, 2012 @ 10:17am
It didn't restore it for me. Had to play it all again.

Never happened to me with AC2, but on SC: Conviction it did every bloody time (I ended up forcing myself to play non-stop for 3h to finish the game and not risk being thrown back again) even with cloud sync off.
