You will have this issue with any old game that does not have a resolution option aka airline tycoon 1 is always running at 640 x 480.
if i find a way to change scaling options in mac will let you know.
Try tip 2 in this
http://www.jesseweb.com/tech/apple/top-5-macbook-pro-15-tips/
at least its playable this way, but still not perfect.
still i think its a problem the developpers or at least the publisher or whoever takes responsibilty for recently putting it out on steam needs to develop some kind of solution for this, since the shop site does not state anything about "do not play if mac os 10.9 or above", but even emphasizes they "now support mac and linux".
sooo... someone who took my money should come up with a solution for this asap.
but i appreciate your help a lot!
Issue is that the 15" MBP has two graphics cards. The integrated intel GPU doesn't seem to support proper scaling, where as the discrete GPU does.
Before running the game, force the computer to use the discrete GPU. This can be done by going to System Preferences > Energy Saver and uncheck "Automatic Graphics Switching". Alternatively, you could install gfxCardStatus (https://gfx.io) which puts a menu bar icon for easy switching.
Worth noting, this will significantly reduce battery life, so might be worth popping back into system prefs to reenable auto switching when you're done if battery life is an issue for you.
Hope this helps :)
