Controller Support?
I read that YDKJ multiplayer does not support controllers, can someone confirm this? I am 90% sure this is a port of the PS3 version which (obviously) supports 4 players on controllers.

I am only asking because not everyone has smart phones (let alone fast ones) however I have 4 perfectly fine xbox controllers ready to go, also this could end up making me not buy this game if I can't play it with my friends.

I have mad the same inquiry in the pinned multiplayer thread with no reply. This will influence my decision to purchase as well.

You can log into the Jackbox.tv controller with almost any device with a web browser. The device itself does not need to be very robust, but your connection should be solid. The Jackbox Party Pack is centered around our new controller system, and it makes it very easy for your friends to join in and play any of the games in the pack.

This is not a port of the PS3/Xbox 360 verison. It is similar to the 2011 but with new content and new question types, new segue videos etc. We have no plans on adding multiple controller support to YDKJ 2015.
So can multiple players play on a single PC like the old days, or does each player require a device?

Each player needs something to use as a controller. This can be almost anything with a web browser such as an iOS/Android smart phone, a tablet, a laptop etc.

Thanks for answering, although its an inconvenience I can live with it. Are there any plans on putting this on sale anytime soon *winkwink winter steam sales*?

I understand only allowing tablets/phones for games requiring typing and drawing. But is it possible to receive an update that allows us to play YDKJ with Xbox controllers? The delayed input primarily impacts that game and a simple update would completely fix it. Thank you.

I've also found that certain devices are inherently less responsive than others and gives players with newer phones about a solid second leg up on the people with older phones. This is really apparent during the Jack Attack round. I've pressed the buttons on two seperate devices at the same time and had one buzz in slower than the other. It's really frustrating.

I understand you guys have done something really neat with website controller that developers haven't tried before but saying that you're not going to even patch in the option of using controllers is kinda disappointing considering you had it in the past.

Exactly! A patch would completely fix it, YDKJ 2015 is probably my favourite of the bunch and I'd like to play it in the best way possible. Fibbage XL and Drawful are great too and work just fine with the devices. We just need the option for controllers in YDKJ.

sorry what? PS4 and Xbox One do NOT support 4 players on controllers so no not "obviously". Would love to know how you draw a picture in private with a controller.

You are right, the PS4 and Xbox One copys do not have controller support... BUT if you read carefully you will find out that I said the PS3 copy has controller support, it supports up to 4 players and does not allow smartphones to be used as controllers.

Pretty much agree with everyone else. I love the option to play YDKJ with a smartphone, and this works great for the other 4 games, but I am getting really frustrated using it for YDKJ. The fact that the single player game uses a controller is especially frustrating. Why not just let everyone on single player and multiplayer use whichever control type they like?

I have the game on PS4, and the previous YDKJ on the 360. The lag on the devices is just the worst. I have a 2 day old iPhone 6s Plus, my gf has a 6s, and my friend had his android phone, and throughout the game we had several issues where we are spamming a button only for it to register the 3rd or 4th time. The other games, I get it, text input, drawing, all better on a tablet...but those games aren't as time intensive as YDKJ, and that's the main reason I got the game. On top of that, I loved parking my finger in the center of all 4 buttons, knowing my answer was just a quick flip up down left or right. Without tactile buttons nearly every time I wanted to answer I had to take a second to look down and make sure I was even over the buttons at all, and to make sure I hit them (and even if I do hit them, it's a roll of the dice if it registers.). There's gotta be a way to patch on controller support, like A) you can all only use devices or B) you can all only use controllers, so as to prevent an advantage. The only upside to the control scheme is that we're all playing with the same handicap, and that's nothing to praise.

baffling that this still hasn't been fixed six versions later. they even have controller support for single-player, for god's sake! what is wrong with these people?

Is there a good multiplayer trivia game that doesn't require me to take a time out to stare down and paw at my cell phone for no apparent reason?
