I have a cable connection, but it passes through a router..
(I'm guessing from your description that you're on a Windows OS)
If on Windows 7 or Vista, hit the button on the lower left and on the search type "cmd"
If on Windows 8/8.1, open the charms (put your cursor on the upper right corner of the screen and swipe directly down) and hit Search, then type "cmd"
press enter
from there, type in
ipconfig/all
A huge wall of text should come up.
What you need to find is something called "Default Gateway"
Mine is 192.168.0.1
If you type that in a web browser (your default gateway, not mine) it should send you to your router..
If there isn't anything that says default gateway, or it's blank, then you're right.
Just.. You really should have a router, it acts as a weak firewall and could help you against web threats.
They might see jackbox.tv as not set up to an IP, and give an error.
Of course, I'm not MissingInsanity, but that's a possiblity, especially since most people don't go to new websites often it seems, or cares about their DNS.
I'd recommend Google's DNS
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
usually you can edit it in the router so it sends to one of your choice.
By disabling Ghostery, the website loaded just fine.
Yes, as the great Mr.Tubesocks mentions, disable private browsing if you are on iPhone
