Help: Jackbox 1, 2 and 5 Crashing. DLL issue
I own Jackbox 1-5 on steam. When I attempt running Jackbox 1, 2 & 5 they immediately crash. I ran these are an administrator and it gave an error referencing "MSVCP140.dll" I have attempted to uninstall, restart and reinstall without success.

Jackbox 3 & 4 work fine and I don't see this file in the directory of these two games.

I'm looking for help resolving this problem.

System:
Windows 7 (SP1), 32-bit
Processor: 2.4 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Everything is motherboard integrated, it's an old laptop.

After playing with the files and registry I was able to get it to work.
While the games were uninstalled I found old registry files that hadn't cleared and deleted them. I then deleted the DLL which was giving an error which resulted in an error from a different DLL. I continued this process until the program finally started properly. Here's a list of the files I deleted:
MSVCP140.dll
MSVCP140_01.dll
MSVCP140_02.dll
MSVCR120.dll
MSVCR120_clr0400.dll
VCRuntime140.dll
XInput9_1_0.dll

After removing these files the program ran without errors.

Then I went back into the installation folder and removed additional files that looked to be associated with the previously deleted files:

MSVCP120.dll
MSVCP120_clr0400.dll
vccorlib120.dll
vccorlib140.dll
vcomp120.dll
vcomp140.dll
vcruntime140.dll

Removing these additional files did not impact game performance and there continue to be zero errors.

If anyone has any input as to where these files came from or what they were intended for, let me know. It may be working for now but I'd like to know what the problem was

I hope this topic helps others with a similar issue.

You're talking about deleting them from the program files of Jackbox Party Pack 1, 4, and 5? I'm running into a similar issue but your solution's not working for me.

You can find the folders for the games on a 64-bit windows system in the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
If you are running 32-bit windows, these folders would be located in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common

I'm having the exact same issue. JB 1, 2 & 3 won't start despite working a year or so ago (the last time I launched them). Did deleting all these dlls really continue to not cause any additional issues that you could see?

Also, my PC is old with similar specs too.

Yes, after I deleted the above DLLs and reinstalled the games they worked as they were intended.
