Unlocked Shanks without finishing Dream Log

Am I a lucky bastard or am I missing something here. I thought you had to defeat Shanks in Dream Log. I just did all the Legend maps and then I wanted to start with Crocodile the Dream Log, however afterwards I wanted to choose someone else and to my surprise, Shanks is a selectable character lol

Well if you own SW Shanks you are able to select him in everything except dreamlog until you fight him and unlock him again :)

I can also select him in Dream Log, just not Legend, yeah I own it. The game has become too easy for me lol

Well legend only allows characters who were actually there. So you can play as him in dreamlog and it worked ?

Yes I'm currently unlocking Magellan as Shanks in Dreamlog :D

Well, if you started dream log with Shanks, Luffy takes his place on the last island. You shouldnt have done that if you want to achieve BB's double devil fruit version. Now you cant get that with your current playthrough.

Never mind, I just want to unlock the main characters, then I can restart the dream log. Does it matter with which character I play apart from Shanks if I want to unlock the double devil fruit version of BB?

Yes you should beat him with Blackbeard on that last island. Which characters you use on other islands does not matter.
