Is it possible to mod the OST?
I know next to nothing about mods so I kinda wanted to ask to you sexy guys if it's possible to mod the OST in these kind of games, I know that in some games you can change the sound files to whatever you like but I don't know if it's possible here.

I'd guess that you just need to unpack the files contained in the BGM file, replace them with something else and then repack them but how's one supposed to do that?

you can always disable music and use an external music player.

No it's not, I'm asking if it's possible to make a mod like that since it can be done in other games.

I'm not asking for ways to play my music in the background because I'm too dumb to mute and add a playlist.

As of now, I don't think there is any mod's available to change the Music in-game. But we do know that the background music is located in "OPPW3\FILE_DX9\SOUND\BGM"
So hopefully at one point, someone will be able to show us how to mod it or something similar.
Probably not the answer you were looking for but yeah. Perhaps one day we'll see that beautiful mod. :ChibiRise:

Yeah I found the file myself, just can't figure out how to open that extension, never seen a .G1L in my life, lol.

I figured that if we can find an extractor we could probably take out the source music from that file and replace it but google is failing me :(

If there was a definite way to go about replacing the BGM files I'd be all over that with OP OST's.

I found this website http://down.gamersky.com/pc/201509/666269.shtml
Don't click on the green and orange buttons, they're dangerous. Avast says so.
Anyways, apparently it's an unpacking and re-packing bgm, but I haven't got any idea how it works.
Just thought i'd share it though since this is a bgm related thread.
Just in-case though, the area where it shows 3 tabs
Resource introduction/ Download /player commment -> Click on Download and it'll take you to the actual download, where you are given 3 options. I picked the middle to get the files.
But yeah, maybe someone will be able to figure it out.

This would be great, I'd just replace all the music with the MGR soundtrack so I could try to sync up cool ♥♥♥♥ with Rules of Nature.

So the cinematics in the game are all pre-rendered WMVs. You can even go into the One Piece Pirate Warriors 3/FILE_DX9/MOVIE folder and watch them all on windows media player. Unfortunately the music is hard coded into the files. Maybe someone who knows how to edit sound better can figure out a way to isolate the music and replace it with classic show music.

Figured out how this tool works. Thanks btw, managed to change main theme for starters. Gonna try to tweak a bit more.

I found on that website this http://down.gamersky.com/pc/201509/666143.shtml , I dont know if this could be useful to access the game source. And a lot of mods here too http://down.gamersky.com/Special/oppw3/

Ok, so I've pretty much hit the wall. The reason is: there are 2 types of music files and one of them is an archive (.atsl file format) which contains 4 more music files (stage music). Above mentioned tool lets you unpack it, but as written in the tool's readme file: "atsl file format is actually a file package, BGM can be extracted from it, but can't be packaged back". Unless there is a packing tool for .atsl file format, I cant progress further.
To make it short, at the moment I can only modify menu\event\character specific music but the stage music remans out of reach. If anyone can find the tool needed, i'd be happy to continue.

I see, hmm..well I've been trying to search for atsl repacking, however, there doesn't seem to be one. I'm sure I haven't search hard enough but from how I see it, we either have to wait till someone can code the repacker or hopefully get lucky and find the program. Why can't life be .ogg ... XD Well anyways, thanks for your hard work, Zenx. If I happen to find any program that repacks Atsl, I'll let you know!
