Guys i need your help. The Problem is when i start the game i just see a blackscreen and then the game minimized and nothing happens.

Guys i have a solution. I had the same problem then I tried this:

I think it's vsfilter it's from DirectVOBSub and this is crashing the game , it's a filter that lets you display subtitles.

I suggest getting the codec tweak tool:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/codec_tweak_tool.htm

Then you can then disable vsfilter just for this game(before you play it), it's under misc. for directshow x86

Now my game is working properly.

Fix for minimized game – black screen
Hi,
Right click on the game in your Steam Library and click on “Properties”
Now go to “Local files” and click on “BROWSE LOCAL FILES”
(or just X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\OPPW3\oppw3.exe)

Right click on the game exe (oppw3.exe)
And click on “Run as Administrator”
This should fix the problem for most users

I have the same issue, The game start normally and I can also play Dram islands, But when I tried to play story mode before the Mission Data, the screen goes black and I can't do anything. I really what to solve this proble, I'm dying for play this game

Hi Mr blaze. I've tried with many way from guide but end up stil lsame.
Its actually work well for me before the update.. I can replay the first mission.. But now, Sighs..

Hi guys, I've tried quite alot of solutions but it leads to no end, i still get the same problem. After the company logo's loaded, my nvidia logo video does not show, but there is the sound of the logo video, right after the video, the game is trying to load the movie, and when it reach the movie, my whole screen became black and the game just hang. really need help guys, really wanted to play this game with the movies, not disabled T,T

I found a little solution that it works for me. Sick of trying the ♥♥♥♥ of disabling the vsfilter.dll in one misterious idea I though that maybe the windowed mode work for the black screen to skip. So I tried once chenging the option inside the game and then start the story mode, It didnt work, but then, y closed the game and started again the story mode(windowed) and for my surprise it works!!!! FK YEAH! I could play in peace. But keep in eyes that sometimes on the cutscenes the game stuck again on the black screen, even on the middle game, so skip the most you can.

Thats it. disable vsfilter, windowed from the options of the game, reset, and skip all the ♥♥♥♥. If you are a real fan you dont need them ;)

Hi christianmad, it would be great that the movies can be played though, the same happen to my ultra street fighter 4 as the game cant start, the game remain black screen at the opening intro, no music no nothin just hanged at the black screen n need to force close, so are there anymore solutions? i totally have no idea what has happen, no idea is steam games problem or my laptop problem Zzz

Hi panda, If you are not able to change the configuration of the windowed mode, maybe you should try looking for the configuration settings inside the game folder. Must be a notepad or something like that, then you could search for the name and value, and change the configuration. Worths try. Let me now if it works.
