Can you switch playable character during story mode?

I looked up a guide on how to unlock some treasure events. Some implies this:
" -You must play as Zoro and meet up with Mr. 1."
" - You must play as Sanji and defeat Tashigi in battle which will require your support characters"
Does this mean that it's possible to switch between characters (not support switching) during the story mode?

Kinda. Before each battle, you are given a selection of characters to pick. There's also Free Log or Free Mode, where you can replay any battle as any character.

Changing the playable character during a battle is not possible, however.

Didnt mean during the character selection screen either xP
The treasure event tells me to "use Zoro to defeat ???", and another is use "Sanji to defeat ???". Perhaps I have to replay the mission to complete both?

Yes you do once you finished it replay it as Zoro or Sanji if you havent yet but you dont have to if you dont care about 100% the game ow and i suggest using the Zoro and Sanji of that time xD

And yes, replays it is. Also a good chance to unlock those wanted poster skills, as you have to play as the respective character. (EDIT: If it tells you to. Silly me)
