Response from the developer regarding the crashes/cutscene bugs.

Hello,

I have been experiencing some crucial bugs at Legend Log and Dream Log especially near the endings.

It first started in Legend Log: Ch3 Summit Battle and War's Conclusion, after the first cutscenes in the battle preparation, the game would send me back to main menu or crash. After some time, I was able to finish the episodes and then the problem reappeared at the last episode: Dressrosa Trembles.

Also, in Dream Log, at the second last island where Shanks stands, after beating Shanks, the screen goes black and the game responds to none of the keyboard/xbox controller inputs. In result, I had to force quit the game and of course, the result wasn't saved. The same problem happens in Legends Log: Dressrosa when I beat Doflamingo at last.

So, I have sent an email to Bandai Namco NA regarding these issues, and here's the possible solutions from them.

First response:
• Please make sure your Operating System and Drivers are up to date and perform a restart/shut-down on your computer (to clear out any programs/processes that might be running in the background).
• If possible, from within the game's options try lowering the resolution and see if that will fix the problem and allow the game to start up properly. Alternately, you can also change the resolution in the configuration files for the game (which is a more detailed process). An additional troubleshooting tip would be to take the game out of full screen mode and put it into windowed mode from the game menu to see if that will at least allow it to start up.
• Make sure to shut down or close any programs so no other background programs are running.
• Try verifying your game cache on Steam, to make sure the game downloaded and installed properly. (please include any information from this check in your response)

Second response:
1. Run Steam and One Piece Pirate Warrior 3 as an admin.
2. Disable the Nvdia GeForce Experience.
3. disable the Steam Overlay and any other screen grabbing, recording or other program with an overlay.

FYI, none of aforementioned fixes worked on my case, but maybe it will work on others.

Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Ryzen 5 2600
GTX 1070 ti
16gb ram
all drivers up-to-date

for me the game was running fine for about 4-6 months on laptop and pc as a casual game, having all options named on default so overlay and gforce stuff were on, but suddenly game wont open anymore, i remember i read the discussion about having no programs open and it worked, but not this time, no matter what i do game wont start.

I've noticed some missing cutscenes here and there, but I personally never had problem with the missing first cutscenes in every episode. Though I haven't recieved a response yet, I asked them about the missing cutscenes.

The game is buggy as hell.
Supposedly it is not well designed for Windows 10 for some reason.

Thing they don't mention that got me past some of this. Try starting without any controllers active.

I recently bought a controller after I got stuck on Dressrosa/Shanks bugs, so I doubt that that's causing the issue.

game is garbage, ive lost count of how many times ive crashed. windows10/1080ti/i78700. ive tried all of the above and still doesnt work

The game is not optimised to be played on the recent graphics cards apparently.
I heard that the game crashes on any graphics card that are released after GTX 780ti or something.

so lazy of them not to fix this. especially with ow4 coming out, they should at least fix this ♥♥♥♥

replaying this now and experiencing these cutscene bugs and crashes. Really hoping I'll be able to finish it this time :(

So if the game wasn't planned for modern systems, will compatibility mode for Window 7 solve it? I also saw some answers that change the sound config for 16 bits CD quality can help.

I'm working on this game in 2024, and nearing the platinum now. (Just about done, just need to finish CREW levels) My advice is if you are having problems with the legend diary where it will crash mid round or crash as it tries to play a cutscene etc., I would recommend these options: Play 2-player (just leave them at spawn the whole match). This seems to change the way cutscenes and other things load, sometimes letting you squeak by. Also, change resolution to something very low, and disable fullscreen. It's annoying for the screen to be so small because of low resolution and split screen from 2-player mode, but this really made a huge difference to my game crashes on levels that just wouldn't cooperate. And for treasure events not occurring on a specific boss like it should, try to let them complete their dialog in full before attacking. If you are overleveled and you instantly kill a boss as soon as you enter the room, things sometimes won't work correctly.
