Worth Playing?
So I have had this game in my library for a few months from a humble bundle. I love dynasty warriors games, but know practically nothing about one piece other than that its shounen, very long, and about pirates. I like anime but never watched one piece due to its length. Is the story followable without any knowelge of the anime/ manga or not worth downloading?

Although I did watch the anime (about ~700 episodes) and it was the first OP game I've ever played so obviously it was cool to actually use those characters, not just watch them doing stuff. I don't know whether you will like it or not, hard to say, the anime is quite goofy and a hefty amount of character are goofy as well, so without knowing the stuff about them you'll just probably cringe at the screen. Regarding the story - well, guess what, how much can you tell from 650~ episodes in one musou game? Right, not too shabby, all we got here is key plot characters and boss battles, that's it, you won't be getting much of lore either (game features just slight briefings which tells you what happened in between the mission and what is currently going on).

From the other hand I played ARSLAN: THE WARRIORS OF LEGEND on my friends PS4 and liked it very much although I had no clue about that anime and it's characters (I know it's a small piece of anime, but still), I mean you can still enjoy a game this way.

Your call, mate.

To be brutally honest with you, I have very mixed opinions on this. It can be a great game sometimes but other time's, it feels more of a dissapointment. The game can feel a tiny bit repetitve sometimes but the gameplay is actaully quite fun.. Compared to the PS4 version, this game isn't that great, it is the only port that doesn't have online functionality, and the graphics look like a combinations of the psvita and ps3 graphics

Although, with my guide on making this game feel and look much like the PS4 port, you should find the game more enjoyable to play.

And if you really don't wanna play the game... you could possibly gift it to me.. if you still got the key... ('_')

Well the gameplay and graphics dont concern me as much as how is the story to someone who knows nothing about one piece. I have a good idea about the gameplay because at the end of the day its a warriors game. I am a big fan of warriors games I have played all main Dynasty warriors a couple samurai warriors and the berserk warriors . Im more concerned if this game is an ok entry point to one piece since I am not willing to watch 700+ ep of anime or read an equivalent. If it is not a followable story to a person who knows nothing about one piece then there is no reason to play.

Note: Sorry but I tend to redeem any game keys that I dont have on my account already since the way I look at it is that a game is a game and I am not really into trading. No harm in asking though :)

Thanks, no harm in trying it out. I been really looking for something to fill the void of dissapointment left by DW9

If you like DW games, then I'd recommend it. I've never watched the anime, but I played a bit with a cousin who explained some of the story. The game leaves a lot of exposition to text-boxes while the levels load in the story mode, but the cutscenes are generally flashy and entertaining to watch. In the end, if the story is too convoluted to follow you can actually just skip 90% of it by spamming the start button. OPPW3 is easily one of my favourite musou games; it has lots of interesting characters and varied movesets, the team-mate assist system is fun, and it runs very smoothly.

Biggest downside is the lack of online multiplayer, but that's not a deal-breaker for me. Try it out for sure :)
