I beg to differ because STEAM sells a lot of games that has full nudity already ... so, using common sense and logic ... voila! It is obvious STEAM banned this free game to have nudity in an form in order to milk the money off players by forcing people to buy games that STEAM allows to have nudity ... whatever STEAM may claim and justify their stance, in the end the truth is simple.

Do I just save it as a text document and place it in the appropriate folder?
I'll answer that myself, the answer is yes. The folder is filled with .rpyc files, which is what it saved as.
You serious? ... they censored HuniePop too?
The huniepop devs provide a link and a process to uncensor the game in the steam forums themselves which is kind of ballsy

all they do is check for a certain file that you can make yourself, its a 0kb file just needs to have a certain name and be .game and it uncensors the game. I guess if you go and do that its still legal for them to sell it on steam heh. So the steam version your still getting the uncensored version just you need to essentially put in a code of sorts through placing a file next to the exe. Sneaky dev is sneaky.
I see ... thank you for the explain and info. I support the devs ... vote hentai for congress!
Bigger game publishers have a bit more "weight" or pull with Steam/Valve and get to release things as they would through any other channel. Think Ubisoft, EA and their ilk. Steam still wants to get their cut of said companies' sales, rather than lose it all to Origin, Desura, GOG or some other competitor.
With indie games, the risk vs reward caluclation favors censorship without being TOO strict about allowing gamers with the know-how to uncensor their affected games. If they REALLY cared about there being bewbs in your game, they'd check the content/stuff running of installed VN games the way they do with multi-player games.
If I had seen this topic 15 or 20 years ago, I would be completely supportive of many of the complaints posted here. But as I have approached mid-life, and watched children grow myself, from an adult perspective, most of my former attitudes and opinions on many things in this world have changed. I haven't even played this game yet, or anything like it before--I only downloaded it because it was free and looked like something new and different for me to try. Hell, I might even download this nudity patch; or not. It is pretty irrelevant to the point I am trying to convey. I commend Valve for having this, and other free/cheap games like it, regulated--I certainly don't condemn them for censorship of all things. Have some kids of your own and you'll start to understand where I am coming from. If not, you are a terrible parent and shouldn't have any more kids
Seriously tho.. when we were young, even up through our twenties, most of us resented being censored, being sheltered, whatever.. some of us outgrow this, and end up saying and thinking things that we swore, as children and teens, that "we would NEVER do.. adults suck! Damn hypocrites!" Then you become an adult, and you have your own children, and you'll be saying such things you swore off without even meaning to.. stuff like "because I said so" sounds like a cop-out to a teenager, an easy way to force an argument to an end.. so unfair, right? Later in life, you will realize that your parents said and did all of those "unfair" things with only your greater interest in heart.
I feel the same way on violent games as I do about things that are sexual in nature. Who is to say that a child exposed to violent or sexual content doesn't incedentally unlock a personality trait that would have otherwise remained dormant, and faded out, as their mind developed naturally. I'll end this with one of those things I said I would never say as a teenager.."Just because I do it, that doesn't mean everyone else can".
Sorry for being so long-winded, and I mean no one any offense--I'm merely suggesting some things for those who are angry about this whole censorship thing to consider. If you made it this far, thank you for your time and patience.
Fair point... Still, the censored content isn't more extreme than what a "child" can find on the internet MUCH more easily.
In the first place, the censored patch hasn't got a widely advertised existence. I expect the only way of finding it is by having the expectation that a video game would have an "uncensor patch", and actively search for it online - which I don't expect that many young individuals (at least the less technical ones) would even be interested or capable of doing so.
With internet and television as they are in the era, the young individual would very much likely be exposed to actual "obscene" sexual or violent content elsewhere, whether by accident or intentionally.
At the end of the day, it as always falls down to the parent or guardian to monitor their child's activities, should they be concerned about such things. The curiousity of a teenager is something a little tough to hold back, though.
I wouldn't know the first thing about being a parent so my words probably aren't very credible, but maybe being exposed to a "fair" amount of aforementioned content isn't as detrimental as to a one might think. Of course, there's still a certain minimum age for such things that even I do feel concerned about.
P.S. Sorry if I had misinterpreted your post, I might have missed a line or two while reading it.
P.S.S. The "If not, you are a terrible parent and shouldn't have any more kids" phrase does come out as a little aggressive, though.
EDIT: Also, pardon me if any part of my post sounds condescending or offensive in any way, not my intention to do so.
