Moving mouse freezes game
Since the recent patch I have had what I thought was a "stuttering" issue in the game. Today, playing around trying to fix it (or at least find the cause) I discovered that the game runs fine with zero issue... until I move the mouse.

In fact... if I just swirl the mouse around and move the pointer back and forth quickly the game actually stops. Completely freezes. Once I stop moving the mouse it goes back to normal and just "unpauses" so to speak.

I am using a Logitech Wireless mouse. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

Any solution to it?

EDIT:
After some research over internet and still didn't work, I found my own solution that sounds stupid but it worked.

I just simply unplugged and replugged my mouse. Weird.

I´ve recently changed from an intel MacBook Pro with windows 10 to a HP gaming laptop. The Macbook played the game fine, but now that I have my new computer I experience exactly what you describe. Moving the mouse makes the game stutter. It is particularly noticable when clicking on objects, the sim head inside the pie menu lags like crazy when moving the mouse. The whole game can grind to a halt if i rapidly move my mouse pointer around.

Adding to this, after some testing i´ve noticed that when I switch my monitor from 144hz to 60hz the stuttering becomes less severe. I´m no longer able to completely stop the game from running, but it is definately still noticable and wasn´t there on the Mac.

After even more testing i´ve noticed that moving the mouse doesn´t cause lag if you move the camera. So if I hold the right mouse button while the game is running the stuttering doesn´t happen. It´s the weirdest thing. I´ve also tried switching between on board graphics and my GTX with no change.

Okay, so I did a clean install of Windows 11, had to get rid of some bloatware anyways. Installed Steam the first thing, installed The Sims and the issue was still there. On a basically untouched install of Windows 11.

I checked some other websites with people who have similar issues in different games, they mention mouse polling rate, and background apps as being the culprits. I´ve tried it all now from closing programs to mouse settings, I give up.
