My read on Fiona is there is a bravado there hiding a very insecure heroine. Only going to get worse now that the family unit she belonged to got ripped apart. I'm going to guess and say you probably aren't going to like her any better next episode if my hunch is on target. :)
Plus ya know, Laura Bailey.
If I have to choose between Rhys and Fiona - which I don't want to, actually, because I enjoy my time with both - I may choose Fiona. But it's really hard for me to pick here. It's them two that makes the mix I think. Her going nuts over Rhys drooling on her was hilarious. That obviously wouldn't have worked with one of them missing.
I just noticed Laura Bailey is voicing Gwyn in GOT. Her voice felt so familiar when I played EP3 like an hour ago. Cool to know.
I don't think gender is a defining character trait in her case, but it's notable because strong women are absent across almost all mainstream games (that's slowly changing, but GTA series is possibly going from bad to worse on the issue, IMHO). It's not as if I like her as a character *because* she's a woman, but her characterization and personality as a woman are notable precisely because she's defying some of those simplifying gender tropes in games that are ultimately a disservice to everyone.
I say her characterization is notable for that reason, but I also find her to be well-written and interesting as a character without taking gender into consideration. I believe she's well-matched with Rhys insofar as they're both good people with crazy (bad?) ideas, and I find that rather charming and hilarious.
