And sometimes, you just can't get into a book, character, whatever. I don't find the same problem with Fiona, and I often find Rhys lacking, but you and I bring different likes/dislikes to the table and it shouldn't be a surprise we have different views.

My read on Fiona is there is a bravado there hiding a very insecure heroine. Only going to get worse now that the family unit she belonged to got ripped apart. I'm going to guess and say you probably aren't going to like her any better next episode if my hunch is on target. :)

I myself have been getting tired of the conman character and originally planned to get her into as much trouble as possible. But when I actually played the game, I put myself in both her and Rhys shoes and tried to be as kindhearted and witty as possible with both characters.

Personally I completely disagree (Except about the hat, that thing is pretty stupid). It may be because I love Laura Bailey's voice but I think Fiona was well designed, considering her background, upbringing and the events that happen in the game, and I find her segments to be as enjoyable as Rhys', and she's made me laugh a lot (Although that's the game in general) such as when she's taking the mick about Rhys always saying "bro".

Plus ya know, Laura Bailey.

This are two different character, my suggestion, is to have two different mind sets when playing them. They argue for a reason. They just have to use their "logic" differently.

I like her a lot. I liker her voice actress. She sometimes makes me laugh just as Rhys. Perhaps it's just more subtle than with Rhys. I don't remember as well at the moment. She isn't very outright. However that also depends on you. At one point you can be nice with her and make her refer to Rhys as a friend (when Scooter wants to boot them). So, she is a nice character. She is just reserved towards Rhys, which is understandable seeing where he comes from and all. Hell at first glance I would probably hate Rhys too. At the second too I suppose. Don't forget his foremost intention was - or still is? - to grab some quick cash. We are talking about some overly clean company man. Fiona's current/original intentions are basically the same but at least she can say that she has to act that way because of Pandora's harsh environment. What excuse does Rhys have?

If I have to choose between Rhys and Fiona - which I don't want to, actually, because I enjoy my time with both - I may choose Fiona. But it's really hard for me to pick here. It's them two that makes the mix I think. Her going nuts over Rhys drooling on her was hilarious. That obviously wouldn't have worked with one of them missing.

I just noticed Laura Bailey is voicing Gwyn in GOT. Her voice felt so familiar when I played EP3 like an hour ago. Cool to know.

I definitely do try that (and I do try to immerse myself playing either character for the most part). Doesn't stop me from disliking Fiona. Gotta admit, I exaggerated in the OP a little, but I'm not a fan.

I like her Figure....but I don't think that counts.

I wondered why we got stuck with Fiona while Sasha is far more relatable in the past. It is what it is.

Yes, I like Fiona. She's a strong female character unafraid to express her opinion and personality, something sorely lacking in a lot of the other games you mentioned.

Well, that wasn't the point I was making with those games. I was just talking about how well they did those anti-hero/evil characters; gender shouldn't be a defining character trait.

I don't think gender is a defining character trait in her case, but it's notable because strong women are absent across almost all mainstream games (that's slowly changing, but GTA series is possibly going from bad to worse on the issue, IMHO). It's not as if I like her as a character *because* she's a woman, but her characterization and personality as a woman are notable precisely because she's defying some of those simplifying gender tropes in games that are ultimately a disservice to everyone.

I say her characterization is notable for that reason, but I also find her to be well-written and interesting as a character without taking gender into consideration. I believe she's well-matched with Rhys insofar as they're both good people with crazy (bad?) ideas, and I find that rather charming and hilarious.

I really think that Fiona has potential to be a better character if her background and purpose for stealing were more intricate. Rhys already has a good background
