EDIT: Oh, nevermind. Someone already told on another thread how to downgrade from Steam itself, lol.
Devs have made their stance and now they should suffer the consequences
Open WIN + R and paste:
steam://open/console
Then in the console of steam put this:
download_depot 3301060 3301061 8228098102537752112
This will download previous version in a folder, the log will tell you where (for me in Steam\steamapps\content\app_3301060\depot_3301061)
Then where the downloaded version is, copy and paste it in the main folder of desktop mate (Steam\steamapps\common\Desktop Mate)
