Every time I launch the game brings up the initializing loading screen then closes itself. Is this a common issue?

I can send screenshots if necessary but I will start by posting a log. I can start a new save game and so far have experienced no crashes like other people, but none of the ship graphics and I believe some of the UI elements are not displaying correctly. 0. New-ish player, still learning how to fly around. 1. Hard, Large, Epsilon, Utility. I hate the starting Scatter Guns. Short range makes them utterly useless.
