Can we have AI partner?
When I first encounter the daughter and she helped me fight, I thought it's going to be a feature, but then I go to the next stage and I have to choose my playable character. I know I know... Find a friend... I'm in my late 30's though, my so called friends are now colleagues, who seeks only monetary benefits. Sad? Well, be prepared kids, life sucks. Also, always use "no ♥♥♥♥" when it's appropriate.

there will be random encounters while you dungeon dive in which they will help you but I agree I want an AI companion(pets dont count) or online coop at least.

The main problem is not always found friend, this game type not liked by everyone.

Yeah, I found that one instance when dungeon diving. If there's an AI, I'd buy this game, if not, sorry have to pass despite all the positive points.

I totally agree. Was a bit disappointed to learn Linda wouldn't follow me around anymore. This will be the selling point for me as well.

I agree. Having AI companion would be great even as simple as one that'd start attacking enemies at the same time as we attack. I plan on buying the game after beating the demo, but AI companion would be nice to see.

I love playing as the dad going absolute PROTECC on the daughter while she plinks away at enemies, extremely satisfying. Too bad that was a unique section. I'll keep an eye on the game maybe it will allow AI partner playthrough in the future.

This. I really dig that whole family working together thing and to be able to mix two characters together would be really fun to do.
Besides there is already AI avalaible and working in the dungeons beyond the Prologue. You can find other family members in the dungeons and I just fought alongside the daughter. It's not so hard to implement. Let's hope it's going to be a valid option added in the future.

I have found numerous ; (spoilered just in case someone does NOT want to see this info)
Artifacts / Trinkets (forgot the name of the thing, top pick up bar) that give us temporary followers. 1 is for melee and the 2nd is ranged. Another i found heals over time.
There are also another type of thing that gives you diferent totems that you can place, dmg dealers, pushers and pullers.
The wolf we rescue and then heal and then build a house for looks like a companion to me, but maybe she will be a full fledged character. That would be cool.

good luck ahve fun

I agree this would be nice, as long the implementation is decent and not just bare bones AI with infinite hp. Could even be optional I guess much like the (local only?) co-op implementation (and be one or the other of course for balancing), though obviously it'd have to be a button that's on the keyboard and not just on a controller.

It's quite a large job to make a competent AI with so many factors and I'm not a fan of the cheap alternative of just making AI allies unkillable one way or another and making no real attempts to keep themselves alive in terms of positioning/dodging/etc as it's normally very easy to abuse such things, especially if the AI is given john and you play linda for example - an invulnerable damage sponge between you and your enemies is obviously OP. With that in mind, I'd probably keep an eye for news of it being added, but wouldn't be concerned if it's not in for the initial release.

My absolute favorite part of this game was when an NPC joined the fight by my side. But it only lasted 3 battles and then the event was over :(

So to get that back I plugged in a controller and macro'd it to spam the attack button. Aim assist (built in game feature) came in handy too, it targeted nearby enemies perfectly. Getting it to follow me takes effort though. In the end I ended up just recruiting my brother who does not game at all. We had fun. He even came back for another round the next day.

Great list. I found one more: +Companion that stuns enemies
