A fair point . Personally I think if they had marketed it as a DLC for PC users at a lesser price ( I think around the 5 - 10 dollar mark ) the blowback would not have ensued . The loss of sales vs the loss of customer support would have to outweigh any short term monetary gain one would think ..
Apparently modern devs think they have to strike Carmack level of rich in a single shot.
No cookies... but maybe a Crunch bar?

Yeah, the gap used to be way bigger in favor of positive reviews.
Its not like undead labs came and took the money out of your bank accounts is it?,you have a choice.
I bought it because the original was too janky for me to enjoy and while this isnt perfect its closer to the vision of the original and now i can enjoy it and i get all the dlc that i never had originally.
What a bunch of weirdos tracking a game sales that they dont even have, why not play some of the games that you do have and then possibly get out and get some fresh air as well and then you might get some perspective back into your lives.
Correction, we do "have" the game...... just not the paid update ;)
Im guessing they released this for people like myself or those who hadnt bought it first time around and thats pretty much it,and not the I WANT SOMETHING FOR FREE a year after release crowd.
If when you bought it originally you were not aware of the issues with it then you must of been living under a rock as they were well publicised at the time so i guess like me you chose to buy it reguardless and so why a year later do you expect to get this for free?,you made your choice back then and so should by now of dealt with it and not be goin on like a scratched record because this release isnt free to you.
For free? heh. Guess what kid, we all funded "Year One" and you just paid for it again. See how that works?
I paid for SOD, why would I pay for an update to SOD? If you buy a hamburger and it comes out burned , do you send it back and want them to fix it ? How would you feel if the took the burned hamburger and said they can give you a better one if you pay more?
Updates and patches are not "free". It is part of the contract when you buy software. Many games add free content for years, like Tripwire's Killing Floor. I understand UL is not nearly as customer centric as Tripwire, but charging twice for the same game is criminal.
Get a life, stop defending a scam company.
