Wits training
I've played the game once all the way through, and a partial playthrough that I abandoned due to...bad things. Decided to start another, and for the sake of it, min/max Maya and Marcus at the start.

I haven't found much in web searches on what does and doesn't increase Wits. So far (now that I'm actually paying attention in this playthrough) I've noticed that searching does, as do stealth takedowns. Simply sneaking around doesn't - which is interesting given that some people suspected it did. Any ideas on what else might?

Maybe you already know but on that mission with Jacob where you have to check other possible home base locations, it's good to visit all of them because each location "boosts" your wits. So take a character you wish to increase wits for that mission.

I logged hundreds of hours in breakdown....maybe I shouldn't be proud of that but I'm ranked 14. Pretty much the only way to get wits up is what you said. Generally it takes the longest to get unless the charcter has a perk that helps them improve wits.

Make sure you have a library, that helps increase your wits faster, but Wits isn't a must have unless you are going to be playing a character a lot.

Generally in breakdown you improve your characters because you get points but still generally you have 3-4 characters that you generally play.

I just wait until Too Many Hordes and just tail Hordes with my charactet to improve wits... In few minutes.

Hordes have some kind of glitch in attention... You can stealth kill all of it without alerting it if you tap "Z" without stopping and from right angle of approach.

Does stealth kills give you wits xp in YOSE? I mean if the game is going to be modded, why not just increase the wits gained from having a library? Or better yet, decrease the xp needed to level?

Yes, stealth kills gives you Wits XP in YOSE. And library add bonus XP for stealth kills as well. So basically I managed to level up from 1 to 7 by killing around 9-11 hordes with library. With easy Fighting XP as well. Ferals can break your fun though...

Interesting, learned something today =D

I guess I've never really noticed it because I would only attempt multiple stealth kills with characters that are already ninjas for being quicker at being stealthy.

Well, it was the first thing I noticed in YOSE and wrote in my mini-guide. =)
Wits were something hard to train in the original game.
