State of Decay 2 - Steam Edition - All We Know So Far

It's unofficially confirmed that State of Decay 2 is coming to Steam.

There was a livestream on SoD2's official Twitch where an error popped up saying "Unable to connect with Steam". This is pretty much proof that it's eventually coming to steam, but the studio (probably) can't officially announce it due to a contract with Microsoft.

Edit: They seem to have either removed the livestream video or made it private. But if you click on the link, you will still see the video in a small window. At least I could.

Also, if you are adamant on pre-ordering, you have to go with Microsoft.

Glad I can finally stop digging through old forum posts to find implicit statements concerning Steam. The nonsense fear-mongering about M$ Store ONLY was deafening and driving me insane.

the homepage now says on faq site about steam release will be announce later or something like that. it will release later on as the one above menthioned cause the contract with microsoft.

What an extremely roundabout way to subtly accomplish such a task. At this point there would have to be evidence of that for it to be more likely than the opposite case, which actually has screenshots backing it.

It can come to Steam. In the form similiar to the other games that use uplay, ea origins, etc. Where the condition is your steam account is linked to a microsoft account (windows 10 only).

E.g Buy on Steam-> Steam DRM ->win 10 UWP DRM (xbox app) -> play game.

Then you might have the benefit of Xbox game network(crossplay+performance) instead of crappy Steamworks P2P(laggy and hard to find players)...

Still speculation. But meh, only those with unsupported OS is left behind, win 7/8/Vista.

I hope so cause microsoft have already had their own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ store and they removed it cause its horrible I dont get why they are trying it again.
