Any idea what is included? Can't find this info online.
info from ge2a
Apart from higher resolution textures, merging the original DLCs with the base game, and the grading, or lighting, changes, which unfortunately (may be fortunately to some) turned nights way brighter in YOSE, removing the need for the flashlight/vehicle headlights (I still hate this and miss the dark and scary nights of the original game), YOSE comes with the following additonal content:
Vehicles
- New SUV vehicle in both a civilian and a military version; the military SUVs are the most durable vehicles in the game, and they're faster than civilian SUVs, so I always bring any I can find back to base and use them exclusively for moving around the map. Luv' me mil SUVs. Simple as.
- The military pickup truck from Lifeline added to the main map (spawns only in Fairfield).
- New paintjobs for vehicles; the civilian SUV has 5 in total (blue, gray, Jurassic Junction, Bubbles, Skulls), while the Sedan has 4 (Octopus, Rustbucket, Patriot with big US flag paint, and a green "street racing"-looking version with black accents). The Modern Pickup has 3 (black with blue flames, and blue with gray accents, and a Sprang Van Rental-branded one), and the muscle car has 1 (Electric). The Norma truck has 2 (a new bright green, and a yellow one). The High End Exotic has a new bright red version without the spoiler. The gray and blue SUVs, and the red High End Exotic, I believe, appear in various locations across the map, and it's possible to accumulate several of them, but all the other paintjobs only spawn in set locations. I could list the locations, but I don't want to make this post too long. You'll find them all and learn where they are (or where they may spawn) with time.
Prepper's pack
- Originally a pre-order DLC for the game, this is now given to everyone. Once per game, or once per level if you're playing Breakdown, you can go the other frequency in the radio tab and call in Prepper's Pack for 5 influence points. This gives you a Prepper SUV with green digicam paint (otherwise identical to civilian SUVs), a folding hatchet (cool, but low durability), and an SKS Survivor rifle with a grenade launcher attachment. Make sure you vacant slots in your supply locker before calling it in, otherwise the new items can't be put in the locker. If you're a new player, don't worry about that, since it takes a lot to max out the locker slots.
Lifeline survivors
- YOSE allows for a few Lifeline heroes to appear in the spawn pool on the main map. They're unlockable via challenges that spawn escort missions to bring them in, and once you've unlocked them, they're in the spawn pool, and selectable upon starting a fresh BD game. These heroes are Alicia Hawkes, Kilohana Young, Royell Vincent, Kelly Eldridge III (Sasquatch). They also bring their radio options with them, meaning you have access to 4 new radio calls when you have these survivors in your base (in order of character presentation above):
Drone Recon (reveals zeds and buildings on the map).
Mortar strike (sets zeds on fire, but rarely works as good as you want it to).
Artillery barrage* (oh yes, instakills juggernauts).
Drone strike (like the artillery strike, but a single boom - also cheaper).
* = This artillery strike is bigger than the one given by Sgt. Erik Tan or Cpt. Diane Montressor. If you choose to stack markers in your locker, these two types of markers will occupy different slots, rather than stacking together, since they're different.
Bonus Survivor
- On the same frequency as above, you may, once per game (not per level in BD), call in Gurubani Kaur, who is a unique hero character with good-to-have traits. If she is lost or left behind in Breakdown, she may spawn in an enclave later, as she is added to the spawn pool if you don't have her.
Guns and ammo
- Gurubani comes with two unique Indian swords, Talwar and Khanda, and a unique integrally supressed rifle called Wingate Commando, chambered in .45 ACP.
- There are 4 new shotguns in YOSE which are made to fire incendiary shells.
- Likewise, there are new incendiary shotgun shells to find or craft.
- YOSE moved all weapons into the Breakdown search lists, meaning it's possible to find weapons that were previously exclusive to Lifeline in this version of Breakdown.
Items
- Gurubani comes with a new unique backpack.
- There is a new mission strand known as CLEO drops, where Lily will tell you to go and investigate a signal. This beacon attracts a massive amount of zeds, so you'll have quite a congregation to clear out, but once you do, you'll be able to search the CLEO container, and find CLEO weapons unique to those containers. There are a handful of new CLEO melee weapons (edged, blunt, heavy) and firearms (pistol, revolver, SMG, shotgun, 2 rifles, LMG, and grenade launcher), and you'll usually find other "military-esque" resources in there as well, such as strong meds and explosives like grenades or mines. IIRC, there are 6 CLEO missions before they stop, so don't ignore too many of them if you want the loot - these missions do expire if you don't go do them.
Things you need to unlock with mods
There's more new stuff in the game, as in, this exists in the game files, but isn't accessible to PC players playing the game as is, since we're not on Xbox Live. This content was originally introduced as monthly challenges to Xbox players or something like that, which gave the players access to radio options with new stuff, such as weapon packs, vehicles, and such. There was also a permanent addition to the kitchen facility to bake pies (which function identically to snacks). Since this content already exists in the PC game files, it is by no means cheating to use a mod to grant you access to it. You still have to complete the challenges to unlock the content, so it's a legitimate effort with a legitimate reward.

So, if you do use this, you'll also have the following in the game:
- Sports pack: 6 melee weapons with a sports theme (5 blunt, 1 heavy).
- Firefighter Tools pack: 6 melee weapons with a firefighter's tools theme (1 edged, 1 blunt**, 4 heavy).
- Collectible Blades pack: 6 replicas of various historical and fantasy swords (all edged).
- Burning Diplomat: An "incendiary revolver", but it is treated as an incendiary shotgun and uses incendiary shotgun shells.
- Stealth pack: A high capacity (64 round mag) 9mm SMG and 10 machined supressors. Note: the firearm you get here does not need to be surpressed; it's not loud enough to cause problems, so save your precious machined supressors for LMGs or something that can use them evenly (such as 100 rounds = 2 machined supressors (2x50)).
- Valentines Weapon: A high capacity (75 round mag) rifle chambered in 5.56mm and painted in pink.
- Holiday Pie: Let's you bake pies in the kitchen, alongside your regular snacks.
- Buzzball bat: A baseball bat with a State of Decay branded sawblade attached to it.
- School backpack: A low-slung backpack like the one Gurubani comes with, except it's cat themed (see the mod page for a picture - it's way more orange in the actual game).
- Boom pack: 3 assault rifles with grenade launcher attachments; two of them chambered in 7.62mm, and the other in 5.56mm. The M4 has a 1/5 durability and I normally just empty the mag on some zeds and then give the rifle away to an enclave. The other two are genuinely good firearms, though, especially the AK.
- Qwik Cleaner Car: Spawns a High End Exotic with ads all over by the Grange.
- Little Piggy Tow Truck: Spawns a driveable copy of the Little Piggy Towing truck by the junkyard (where the undriveable sign version up on a trailer's roof is).
- Mad Bomber: Adds Milo Eldridge (Sasquatch's brother) to your base. He's a chemistry expert and comes with an R12K Dragon incendiary shotgun, but beware: You'll need to work up friendship with him in order to be able to play as him. Unlike Gurubani, he won't have a full friendship bar when called in.
** = The access axe is actually a blunt weapon, and blunt weapons experts will be able to use it as such, even though it says "Edged weapon" on it, and the fact that it's a damn axe. This is something Undead Labs never fixed.
That should be all. I hope you, or at least someone reading this, found it helpful.
Thanks for the long post. My original question though was about the day one version of YOSE. I was wondering if there was anything different in it, since some shops claim they still have this version for sale.
And if there is some unique stuff how do you find it in game?
And...
...seeing as this pre-order bonus was added to the regular version of YOSE, Day One edition no longer differs from the regular one anyway, should you manage to obtain a version of Day One. All in all, you're not missing out on anything, so don't worry. The YOSE version here on Steam is fully complete in terms of content/extras.
