Voice Actor Diversity
Im finding it a bit weird how almost all the randomly generated survivors are voice acted by the same two black voice actors. Could they really not find more voice actors?

cost cutting

All? Sounds like a RNG thing, because my survivors have a few of the voices.
But the voices were reused a lot because of costs.

Each survivor is not 'randomly generated', there is a list of survivors, and they are all set in the files for look, voice, skills, etc..

Well I would assume they were randomly generated as an excuse as to why all the voices are mismatched.

I believe it also has to do with the original game's tight restrictions on size due to being an XBox Arcade game. With tight requirements, a lot of nice things (like a wide variety of voices) get cut.

He said why. XBox Arcade games have (or had) strict size limitations when the game was created.
Sounds take a lot of file size, because each voice has a lot of things they can say. I went through them once, and there are pages of voice content for each.

Yes it does. How exactly can you voice every character with a different voice when you have limited space?

What-ever you just said makes no sense.

Oh God, this is so normal for this industry that it isn't even notable. Developers have been doing stuff like this for years to get the most of their resources. The same VA can play multiple characters in animated cartoons, why do you expect videogames to be above that standard?

It's quite simple - the game had a limited budget for both money and space. With each VA saying many lines and reactive dialogue that can applied for many characters, adding in even one more would be a sizeable chunk. The number now is the number they settled on during development, which is where they spread out as much of the XBLA space that they could.

Well if i would voice more than one character i would like to be paid twice duh. And what i said have sense because games are bigger not because of sound but because of better textures. so yea limited size my ass

What? You have a huge disconnect with reality here.

...Sound files have size. And actors still need to be paid. These are very objective, simple truths.

2 gigabytes of space is not an infinite amount. It's not even lots. Cuts need to be made where they can. It's how the world works.

well those same voice actors could of manipulated their voices for those different characters. That is what being a voice actor does in these tight situations.
