Is there any way to trigger an enclave mission?
Is there any way to trigger an enclave mission? There's a bunch of Enclave's around me and I'd rather keep doing their missions than continue with the main story. I'm just concerned that if I continue with the main story i'll get to far away from the enclaves and they won't be worth my time.

There is a hard limit on how many missions of one type can be active on the map at the same time. It's 3 or 5 or something? So if you want enclave missions to spawn You need to keep doing non-story missions (freak hunts etc) and new ones will generate and there is a certain % that any of those will be an enclave mission. There is (or was) a limit on 1 mission per enclave per simulation day (not ingame day) it I recall correctly so after doing enclave missions you need to roll over to next day for them to generate more.

So it could take literal weeks to complete this game because I need to stop and start like it's a mobile game? That's not great design.

Originally even plot missions timed out and should that have happened you would get stuck on the map with no way to advance the plot. Nobody says that this game's design is good, these are ex Guild Wars 2 devs who went indie so they cannot into single player game design, take it or leave it.

You have a workaround option to set your computer's clock 4 hours or 1 day forward when the game is turned off and then start it and game will think that a day had passed and run the simulation a day forward and then you can set the clock back. Other than that, play it as a daily login game or leave it altogether.

Try taking useless gear and deposit it in the enclaves near you to raise your influence/friendship with them. Whenever I hit a dead spot it is like the game thinks my base is too well stocked and secure. I like to take those dead times and do cardio and shooting/fighting skill ups with my extraneous personnel.
