Difference between the original and YOSE?
I just got a gift copy. Not sure if I should use it or gift it away.

Better graphics. (And less bugs?)

And maybe all the dlc.

I just got it as well but I'd heard it was a broken mess even compared to the old version, which is why I never bought it in the first place.

YOSE also has more playable characters for the Breakdown DLC and more vehicles.

Original is a straight Xbox 360 port with lingering problems and bugs that were never fixed. From visuals to gameplay issues. Also it doesn't support resolutions above 1080p unless you dig around for a config file.

YOSE upgrades the graphics and other stuff but is still a port at its core. YOSE is what the PC version of the original should've been with all DLC included

minor upgrades some bugs they decided to fix here and not on the original... It's basic the original game with some "mods". You can even install old mods from the first game here.

Just got a random gift for this game. I remember switching machines in the middle of the original game and it ran very poorly on an FX8350 (had to set lowest detail to get smooth 60fps). It ran fine on max settings on an Intel i5 Haswell chip though.

I seem to remember bouncing off this when I bought it because of some weird persistent world thing. Does the game world still progress when you're not playing?

I prefer the old version. In YOSE, you have an option to repair your melee at the locker, which makes the game even easier...

Also, not sure what bugs were fixed, but i noticed new ones, like floating bags for instance. Also, contrast is much better in old version.

I would say it worth to get both versions, and play the one you prefer

It's possible in the old version too when you upgrade the factory.
Or else how could you go around without weapons? They aren't infinite.

Original doesn't have DLC Achivements, on YOSE it does. from 46 to 72 plus Better Quality and Less Buggy? I still like it.

I guess remember in the old version, you had to leave your damaged melee for one night (and to pray a damn npc doesnt take it) to get it repaired. In YOSE, you simply have a button to instant repair the melee, at any time (and without base upgrading) which makes it much easier. This said, I always played SoD as survival (I modded it with the Dilemma mod on Nexus) and never really paid attention to the base upgrades.

This is an old post, but you just reminded of playing this on a 8350FX and having to fix a throttling issue in the motherboard BIOS for this game to run smoothly. The original game actually made me aware of the throttling in the first place. After that it was getting very high fps. But I've long since moved to intel processors...
