State of Decay: Year-One

State of Decay 2 - Windows 7?
Since I haven't found any official confirmation about windows 7, is it going to come to it, at least later this year?

Bad decision if they don't' do it. windows 10 sucks and i am never using it, ever.
Why would they support a dead OS? That's what's a bad decision.

If you don't like 10 - which is kinda stupid - don't use it; just don't expect any type of support.

What support do you think i would need lol. I have no problems with anything. Also, the main reason why i have no intention on switching over to windows 10, is because of "game performance", there's absolutely no difference in gaming performance/frame-rate compared with Win7 vs 10. I have tested windows 10 3 times, not only is the OS feels like a stupid tablet, but its not even consider to be a Windows OS, its a tablet OS made to be like Windows. Its very similar to windows 8 nonsense. But as i said, no difference in gaming performance, no point to install it. Windows 7 does everything i need which it has been doing for years, running perfectly fine.

Lol - said no one that's ever used it. It's NOTHING like 8 or 8.1 - and in fact almost identical to 7 with a few added features - like including the tablet mode from 8.1 and several other API (like the coming Ubuntu shell that works from the command prompt...) - or DirectPlay that's included on the XBox One...

As for optimization: Windows 10 is slightly faster than 7 because of memory optimization - even though the Kernel is pretty much the same: https://www.pcgamer.com/windows-10-but-what-about-performance/ - that article is 2 years old; so it doesn't have all the latest optimizations...
I have used and tested windows 8 and 10 3 times, both OS sucked alright. And there's no difference in gaming performance as i said, so again there's no reason for me to use it. I also dont like windows 10 layout, interface. No difference in gaming performance, i have no intention on using it.

If you like it, enjoy it. :)

Also Win10 forced updates that often break ♥♥♥♥ that I have to go to registry to disable completely. Which idiots idea was that?

That's my main problem with Win 10. Just about everything else I can find a workaround for or tolerate. But when I can't NOT install their publicly acknowledged bugged update that keeps freezing and crashing my system, they can go attach themselves to another object by an incline plane wrapped helically around an axis.
Blame the whole "Play Anywhere" push from MS...without it, SoD 2 would probably be on Win 7 as well. Ah well, got it on the Xbox One, and when it goes on sale eventually on Steam, I'll borrow my fiancee's laptop and play it.
No DX12 requirement but still Win10 Exclusive. That's garbage.
Said it once: will say it again. Until Windows 7 uses XPlay; at best: steam version won't play with anyone else other than steam versions - and that would require 2 different builds; and thus - it won't be for a bit after release....

It's already probably made it's worth in pre-orders.

Steam is not the center of the universe. The whining is fairly isolated in this case, too.
Nobody said anything about steam but your ignorance can be seen.

No matter which drug you have taken, take less of it.

Windows 7 is the most popular OS on steam, you live under a rock if you failed to recognize that by now. Please take context into thought next time you try to one-up somebody.

It works for the other end of the stick as well - I could have been, and was, referring to console pre-orders.

"Some two and a half years after its release, Windows 10 has finally overtaken Windows 7 in worldwide usage.

That's according to web analytics firm StatCounter, which puts Windows 10's share of Windows PCs at 42.78 percent, ahead of Windows 7's 41.86 percent."

"Most popular OS on Steam" was what he said.
I would agree about the exclusiveness if win10 had 64% and win7 only 19% - there would be no point, but this?
The only reason is promoting their latest system with integrated store to sell stuff without the need to share with other platforms like steam. They will lick the cream and then make/release a more supportive version for sure. There is nothing to argue about.

I get that. And not everyone likes steam - so his point is moot.

Its as moot as yours, trying to answer something nobody asked you about. Still, here, rival analysts with no horse in the race:

http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/computing/windows-7/windows-7-support-end-11364081315419
According to NetMarketShare’s January 2018 data, 42.39% are still using Windows 7 – compared to the 34.29% who have moved on to the latest operating system, Windows 10.
The whole data, as of Febuary 2018:
https://www.netmarketshare.com/operating-system-market-share.aspx?options=%7B"filter"%3A%7B"%24and"%3A%5B%7B"deviceType"%3A%7B"%24in"%3A%5B"Desktop%2Flaptop"%5D%7D%7D%5D%7D%2C"dateLabel"%3A"Custom"%2C"attributes"%3A"share"%2C"group"%3A"platformVersion"%2C"sort"%3A%7B"share"%3A-1%7D%2C"id"%3A"platformsDesktopVersions"%2C"dateInterval"%3A"Monthly"%2C"dateStart"%3A"2017-02"%2C"dateEnd"%3A"2018-02"%2C"segments"%3A"-1000"%7D

Not everyone likes windows 10 either, and for good reason.
