Races also feel odd. 90% or more of my peeps are asian, black, or hispanic. I think I have a single white person in one of my three 10 man communities and they still look kinda sorta asian.
Multiplayer I couldn't care less about, but mods are an absolute must for PC games for me. The only games I put major time into are mod friendly ones, and this one seems uneditable as the windows store wouldn't even let me open the install folder without security changes.. and even then the files are all locked up tight. Major no-no Microsoft. Seriously, do you even know PC gamers?
There are so many things I'd love to see modded. Bases this time around are just as tiny, but there are far more options for buildings.. you'll just never build any of them because you only have space for the essentials you can't play without. Worse, lots of homes have built in facilities that take up large chunks of space, like the mall's kitchen, gym, and latrine. None of those are things I'd build, but you're stuck with them.
Inventory slots are still too limited, particularly vehicles. Worse, there are far more lootable items this time around to take up those slots so they fill even faster than before.
Constant random.. oops I broke something, -1 materials. Yeah, let's disable that thank you very much. It's so common that it literally happened in the middle of BOTH my finished game's end cinematic. They're giving a speech and it pops up apologizing for spilling the meds or some such crap.
I need to apend part of my orginal post. the game is in no rush to tell you. if you start a new comunity. you can use a "randomizer" to generate random survivors if you skip the tutorial... BUT this is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get the survivor you want looks and skills wise. this is just flat out BAD GAME DESIGN. this is game design 101 and they screwed it up? I have no idea why or how they failed this badly.
the bases are a joke. all those fun things you were talking about, you will never get to build them.
you are forced to fill your meger tiny slots with the resources and will never get to enjoy the others. can't upgrade your farm without a trade leader. well there goes the other three leader options as they just are not powerful enough.
Builder's sniper tower is worthless. Legacy buff is OP. Free water/power frees up all your outpost slots.
Trader's trade depot is decent.. but I'm not sure it's worth the large slot. 200 influence a day is a pittance really, and compared to a farm putting out 8 food or meds, or the material maintanence removal building.. it doesn't seem worth using. The legacy buff's 4k influence right at the start is OP as hell too.
Sheriff's field hospital.. was an infirmary in a large slot? Not sure what it did an infirmary didn't already do. The legacy buff is something like gifts from other enclaves once a day.. unknown value on my part.
Really, Trader seems to be the way to go (once you have a builder legacy). The farms and gardens are crazy useful. I am interested to see if I can start a game with random peeps I don't care about, use the Warlord legacy to get guns... then join some person's game and drop all my stuff on the ground for them before leaving and deleting that community. Seems like an easy way to give someone a huge amount of useful stuff for free, if you can trade stuff like that.
what is a legacy buff? is that if your survivor starts a new game after killing the plauge hearts?
You also unlock a legacy buff for each leader, and upon starting a new game you can choose 2 of them.
Builder - Free water/power
Trader - 4k influence and a rare goods trader at the start of the game
Warlord - Stockpile of military grade weapons and explosives in your base storage.
Sheriff - "Gifts" from other enclaves daily. Never used this one so far.
builder is WOW levels of OP. holly crap free water and power?!
Yeah I need to control two outposts for that, one power substation and the other water supply station for that, 1000 or so influence each to control.
do you have to have that survivor in your new game?
