for outposts what is best?? close to base??

or just a few around base and then spread on other side of map? whats the best strategy? im at savini residence now more small community and theres allot of houses around me? what should i do? i can have 6

The better your outpost coverage, the less zombies will spawn. If you have gaps, then zombies will spawn closer to your base.

gotcha..so a base with traps is best to do..i have 6 i can utilize near the savini res and its a residential moreso than church of asc was.. i guess ill keep the bases close..
I thought it was to spread out you being able to reach storage units around the world. but since u cant drop supplys off at outposts it really doesnt matter

Yeah, best to cover as large area as possible around your base. Hordes won't be able to reach your base + won't spawn any infestations there, + you can search the area without trouble. For example:

I disagree. I keep an outpost at every corner of the map (except that stupid park in the intro), so I have a drop-off point for all the loot I find. You want at least half of your outposts to be Construction Materials, because that's the only resource you can't produce. Sieges are never an issue because sieges don't happen at all in the main game; that's a Lifeline thing. Also, put one in the middle of the map; it's going to be food, which you don't need, but it helps having a drop-off point there.

Oh, and the warehouse at the southwest end is the best home base. You can also do the fairground at the northwest, which gives you more facilities and parking spots, but there's not as much to harvest up there, and it leaves you more remote. (You get more guns, but less everything else.)
