WTF is that ENDING?!
I just cannot believe that I spent 14 hours on this game with such a horrible, unpolished, most stupid ending I have ever seen in a video game, and I am playing video games since 1993.
The game started alright, then it was a great fun playing it, but at the end, it just felt that I repeated the same missions, over and over again.
But hey, I was sure it was worth it - build a community of survivors, develop our home.
BUT WTF I just witnessed - an ending with 2-3 survivors, and we ♥♥♥♥ing LEFT everyone behind.
WTF?!?!?!@#

And that fight at the end. Copy paste zombie wave X 3 - anddd CREDITS SCREEN.
WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

The real game is actually the sandbox mode - Breakdown. The "story" mode is really more like an extended tutorial for it.

That said, if you're looking for deep story, you might want to start a different game rather than moving into the sandbox where it's really just "do what you want to do and see how long you can make it".

SoD1 was originally an XBox Live Arcade title. As such, the original build of the game was limited to 2GB. So the game was created with limited resources.

Because the survivors in your community have random names and appearances and after the introduction basically everyone but Lily could die, they did not include anyone else in the ending.

State of Decay 2 is going to be a full release title with no such restriction on resources. Hopefully it'll have a more fleshed out story mode.

According to the story, they didn't let the others behind. They contacted all survivor communities to let them know.

Loading NPC name is a matter of few code lines, I hardly believe that the 2 GB limit is the case here.

It's really hard to tell, isn't it? 2 GB is tiny (hence, I guess, all the survivors who have the same voice actor, and so on). XBLA severely limits games in many ways (size, how often you can do fiixes, and so on). For all that, it's a pretty entertaining game.
im not really mad about the ending but more about the character which could have made this game more like a waliking dead game which it is but evan more better.what i mean is that they could have had interisting situations like when u find out the relationship between jacod and eli which could have made it into a situaton on wheater u would choose to help jacob by recruitng eli to join your group or choose to eliminate all of the wikersons as they arnt the friendly group

I believe there are going to be hostile groups of humans in SoD2. Not just zombies.
Since SoD2 is going to be a full release, we can probably expect a lot more depth from the story... I hope.

Also, nobody left anybody behind at the end of the game. There is no indication of that or suggestion of it.

:/

How would you get that idea? Their goal was to blow the wall, not leave right then and there.

Think about it. If they actually left, Lilly would be leaving her brother behind, potentially Sam, Marcus, Maya and other named story characters, considering that everybody with a maximum trust level is considered one of the group leaders. That's obviously not what happened.

Also not much you can do for a scripted zed fight in a game with no other stated enemies or resources to create more, other than script the hard special infected (juggernauts and ferals) to come in. Which they did. A lot of them.

So, :/

This is a pretty average ending, if you've been playing games since the stone ages or whatever I'm sure this can't be the worst (especially considering you probably got it wrong).

Lol I agree man. The end was ♥♥♥♥. You didn't even get to pick your favorite surviviors for the last ♥♥♥♥♥♥ wave defense. It was a very rush ending that they should of spent more time on.

Breakdown isnt bad. Its cool because you feel like you get more choice in survivors. It just gets really boring though. Its all the same side mission content you already did. Just over and over. This was a fun game but could be improved in many areas.
