Great mods?
I have only played this game with 2 mods. The mod which fixes the bridge in the start area and the "Zombies dont run" mod, so the game actually feels like a zombie game, as it is just annoying when zombies run, it totally kills the mood. But that of course just comes down to taste.

I would like some recommendations to what mods you use to make the game experience better?

EDIT: I have both the standard edition with all expansions and also the YOSE edition, so you can come with recommendations for both versions. :)

I like the zombies don't climb mod. You have a choice of either they don't climb over barbedwire or everything. I have it working, and it dosn't prevent any zombie types from spawning.

Are you playing the original edition or the Year One Edition? Most of the good mods only work on the original.

The "QMJS Extended Function" mod is pretty good for the Year One edition...really overhauls the game...though it can make it have some crashes every now and then. Not too bad though.

I have both versions, so you can suggest good mods for both versions. :) I am just looking to breathe some new life into my games. :)

And thanks for that suggestion.

Can you download these mods from other places than "The Nexus", as they require a paid profile?

You don't have to pay for a Nexus profile, but the signup process tries to lead you to one. Just look at the options carefully as you go and you can get a regular, free account.

If you can't find it, look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoS87E5_rn0

Mods?
All mods i found, are on nexus mod managager and only one of all 12 mods i wanted to use, worked on the game, so nexus isnt a "solution".
I reported the problem in nexus forum - no answer after days.
So it seems, IF you want to play withh a mod, you have to "manually" install or create it - and i dont know, HOW to do that so i have to play without mods - terrible :(

Should you happen to download any of my mods on the nexus, it comes with an unusual item, its called a 'ReadMe' file, and it explains in pretty good detail how to install my mods manually.

I installed QMJS on the latest YOSE, but weird things happen such as (can't build a medical area even though I have plenty of resources and influence). Would be nice if mods were still created for YOSE, because it is a fun game and I'm sure lots of people still play it even though the game is no longer supported by the devs.

But not enough labor, or no power... the readme files exist for a reason.

Usually it will say something like not enough labor or materials, but in my case it simply said certain upgrades cannot be built in certain areas such as indoors/outdoors, but I was able to build a medical area outside/inside before. Right now I'm playing vanilla, and I only just joined a group and I was able to build a medical area.
I wonder if you uninstall the game and then reinstall it, if the mods are removed on a clean install. Perhaps remnants of previous mods may interfer otherwise when you reinstall the game.

Steam only removes files it puts in place, so if you reinstall, modded files will still be there. If you want to remove them all you have to manually remove them. But, make sure that you don't delete your userstat and save files.

Modded files will almost always be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\State of Decay YOSE\Game

Saves are under here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\State of Decay YOSE\USER

Does anyone know which part of the QMJSZ mod adds the spin kick ability? I would like to add just the part of the mod that provides additional abilites to the heroes.

It doesn't work that way. Each file depends upon a number of others, and without all of them, you'll have lots of broken things.

Same experience for me, good mod, (YOSE for me) made game unstable (more so than it already was) though. I also use the slow zombie mod; wich I patched into QMJS.

I installed the OMJS mod (removed the prefab and added no climbing zombies). Game seems to work fine. The reason I removed the prefab is because I had survivors constantly going up and down the ladder of the tower at Kirkmans's residence. Where do you add the slow zombie mod file.
