Any news on big update?
Was wondering how the big update is coming along. Some new title just sprang out of nowhere today and after only a few minutes of testing, I was thinking how much it was a dead ringer for Tile Miner if you had accounted for the changes that were going in. Last I recall some big changes had to be made because the new tiles were larger which ofset everything. Was curious to know if we might see something before the holidays arrive.

We're still working on the next update. We've received 90% of the art from the pixel artist and most of that is in the game. Our music guy has two songs left to complete. Changing the tile size to the new tile size is pretty much 100% complete. What's left? Quite a bit of small stuff.
This next update is adding 2 dungeons and a whole boat load of features. There are almost 10 new villager types including a builder who can build entire homes for you. Most of the core mechanics are done but there is a ton of polish and bug fixing. There's no way we can do this in smaller increments either. Everything needs rebalancing. The first dungeon is now going to be in the above ground which changes the games balance. We're hoping to have everything ready for release early next year. I am hoping to post an announcement next week as well to talk about some fo the other things that have been added to the game.
In the meantime just know that we are hoping to do a beta release before the actual game launches. You're on our list for sure!:) Thanks!
By the way, what's the name of the game you were referring to?

Did the beta not ever happen? I saw a few updates, which Steam never sent any notifications. Seems to happen with older games. I was going through my game list to see what games I have not played in ages, then saw this and was like, wow, lets see whats been done.
EDIT:
I just ran smack dab into a dungeon on forest level. I remember you stating this was going to happen. It was just chance that got me there. The Dungeon finder did not work. I love the treasure chest idea, and man did you make cheating extremely hard to be done, or is it the engine thats doing this? Anyway, Is there multiple dungeons, or just this one? Meaning if I continue on first map, will I find more on same level?
Edit #2:
Im throwing in edits so as not to spam. Im starting to get an idea of what went into the update, by playing the game. Im building a stone house, yet having door placement issues. Not sure if Im missing anything. I believe the game has a memory leak. At some point, game gets very laggy and has to be reloaded. Looking great so far.

Our plans changed quite a bit since I posted that info about the Beta. I completely understand why developers never like to give info on the game. Plans change so frequently throughout development it's incredibly difficult to stick with whatever the current plan is. We decided to do another early access alpha release (that's what you're playing now). We did this because we knew we were going to be adding a whole lot of changes that were going to take more time than originally planned. On top of that, I wanted to get the updated graphics out ASAP. I'm going to outline the current state of development in the form of an announcement after replying to all your messages. I'm hoping to have the game in a pretty much completed state before I do the Beta and unfortunately we're still a ways off. The good news is that there are some I think awesome updates planned.
In the next update you will no longer find dungeons generated in the world itself. Instead, the compass will lead you to a portal that takes you to a level that is only the dungeon. There will only be one dungeon per level and they will no longer be randomly generated. This may seem like you will lose replay value but I'll explain that in my announcement later today. For now I'll just say you won't be limited to playing the dungeons that I build by hand.
Walls and doors and everything like that will be much easier in the next update. We had our graphics guy play test the game in order to give us advice. He wanted to rethink the way dungeon walls work entirely. I'll show you what I mean in the announcement. I feel like I keep coming back to that...:)
On the 0.9 Version, how do i spawn pig. It won't let me spawn. By the way, fishing would be nice. :)

To spawn a pig you need to buy one from the rancher and then "use" the pig spawner somewhere in the world. Does that help?
Naloth, Im working on my book and finishing up some projects, but when I get some free time, wanted to ask you about multiplayer. Been looking at your code, and it actually looks doable using a 3rd party server program. Game handles everything except item transfer and player location. Just a thought.
Thank you for the info on the pig spawner, it works! Thx again :) Cheers
