Underground questions

After deciding I needed some coal, I came uppon a big black void-esc line underground that you could walk through. I was confused because it was below me, and below me further was my staircase. I ended up seeing it again but on the right, and just beside my staircase. It had never been there before, and I was underground for a while, but when I wanted to come back up to smelt some of the copper and tin I got, the game softlocked to a loading screen. Just wondering if the voids were intentional, given you can walk in and through them, but can't mine or anything, as well as if you are only meant to spend some time in the underground. Otherwise, the game runs smoothly, and I can see this game going places!

That sounds like a bug to me. In fact, it sounds exactly like a bug we found while developing the last update and we were pretty confident we had fixed it. Are you currently running version 0.4.0? Unfortunately if you update you'll likely lose your save file. If you are running the latest and still seeing that bug let me know because we'll have to take another look at it. Thanks for the feedback! Let me know if there are any other bugs you run into or if you have any ideas for the future of the game.

Yes, I am running 0.4.0. It fixed itself after I save and quit, and entered the game again, along with stopping the softlock, but yes, I am running the most recent update. It may have something to do with the size of the underground, given I was pretty far away from my set of stairs, and was down there for a while, at least 20 min.
