Tried reds and sentinels
and they are full of useless, ridonculously overpriced guns. The only viable design i was able to make for reds was a 4x missile defence lasers fighter but it was useless vs large ships. Sentinels? You cant make small ships with them at all.

Reds: There's a reason the faction is labeled "hard mode".

Sentinels: Look at ramming spikes. High HP and a 500% collision damage modifier. Guns are expensive because who needs guns?

Made a spinning ship with spikes started right next to farmer cargo ships problem is i bounce off them and they regrow while i fly back. Took me forty seconds to luck and grind the core of an one.

Spinners are impractical as early ships until you can get enough mass to not bounce. You should be ramming directly in small ships.

I too don't like the sentinels. Their starting weapon is a front faced beam that you have to charge and has a horrible P cost. Not to mention i personally hate any weapons that i can't aim as i can't seem to hit anything i want no matter how hard i try.

They have a turreted which is pretty strong if you actually hit it. It's velocity is so damn slow that almost any ship can easily move out of the way.

The only thing i found worth using are their tiny homing rockets which you can spam a lot. Which you have since their damage is crap and if an enemy has a shield you can''t take that shield down. You need at least ~20 of those missiles to actually take a single shield down.

And sure ramming might work. But because im big im often super slow and can't even get close. And if i ram them i "might" remove 1 or 2 blocks. Can unlock either the obliberator or the nuke but honestly, they don't have any guns.

The reds are by far better than the sentinels. They die fast but at least have some guns that do damage and can actually hit something. Just the fact i can aim some proper guns makes this faction better.

I play almost only as sentinels, and they are very strong, but have 3 things that need changes:
1. The oblitorator needs higher damage or lower cost
2. There should be, just like the small version of the anihilator, a smaller version for the nuke and gauss beam, as well as a bigger version for the missiles
3. Two new weapons:
Desintigrator: Similar to the obliterator, but the beam is constant and has same range, but lower damage and P cost. Why: smaller ships need to be able to deal high damage without most of the P going to one single weapon
Wraith missiles: dals only 5 damage but fires 2 missiles a seconds, 4 if both missiles active.
Why: the Flurry missiler are useless late in the game against bigger ships. mass missiling however will give the sentinels a propper long range weapon for harassment

1. it doesn't need a damage increase maybe a very small P decrease taking into account that not only is it long range/ high damage but also rotates.

2. they don't require any of that expectantly smaller nukes

3. WTF so basically turn them into the bee's but with more range and aim able while also being able to do melee damage no thanks.

4. so you want a missile that does 50% less damage and generate 2x the amount of lag have you ever been against a sentinel agent that does nothing but launch a tone of missiles??.

the sentinels are fine as they are and don;t need to be made OP turned into the bee's but better or more of a threat to the reds what needs to be buffed is the reds that have no shields no armour weak hull health and one of the slowest block regrowth speeds in the game which labeling them as hardmode doesn't fix luckily they do make decent drone boats.

Labeling the hard mode faction as hard mode doesn't fix that they're underpowered, no. But it explains why and makes their underpowered-ness not a flaw, but an intentional design decision. They're MEANT to be weaker than other factions. They are underpowered because using them is difficult. It's not supposed to feel like any other faction, it's supposed to be an uphill battle agains the odds.

Reds are meant to be a weaker faction, and they are a weaker faction. You can make them work well enough, but they're always going to be weak because THAT'S THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE HARD MODE FACTION.

Sentinels? Weak? LIES!!!
I have built a 50-100000 P Sentinel Armada that can wipe the floor with everything else it come in contact with. In fact, you can go downlad it for yourself on the Reassembly Workshop!
(and it WILL kill you!)

Most people have an affinity with certain factions, particularly ones that play well within the their personal gaming style, often something aquired over a long and unique career of other experiences. Sure, some factions are in many ways stronger than others when used by the majority of players, but here the most important person is you, and the only opinion that matters your own: if you think that a certain faction is weak, then they are, and will remain so until you yourself change. ...or, y'know, a new update.


Seriously though, maybe those factions just aren't for you.
Not yet at least.

the reds aren't difficult to play as but when its ai vs ai or player vs ai they suck and the design decision excuse doesn't work either they had an idea it didn't work.
is the fact that the bee's ai can't use the shard launcher and that the ai will quite often try to snipe with a laser ship if you add a single drone to it also a design decision??.

I don''t mind them being the weakest at all. Somebody has got to take that place. But they can''t do anything that another fanction can do better.

Their weapons are all short range and weak, except for the tempest but it still has no range. Their ships are made out of paper and even a 2 or 3 missiles take out their tiny ships easily. A single protosword can wipe out their entire fleet in seconds.They are quite slow as well. Other than being a good target for new players what do they excell in? Absolutely nothing.

What? Seninels are almost OP. Out of all the factions, my Sentinel fleet are the strongest. 250P drone can easily take out 8000P single handedly.

...LOW DAMAGE? THEY CAN ONE SHOT A SENTINELS SHIP!!!!

You might want to take a look at your mods lol. The weapon with the highest single shot damage is the phaser, which hits for 45 per shot and shoots once every second. Their weapon with the higest dps is the tempest sitting at 800 per second if you manage to hit every shot. Which you won't.

The only way i see a sentinels ship get oneshot if it was either horribly build or was the crescent one. That one can be oneshot by almost any weapon.

Dear noob, i would appriciate you to watch youtube and play the game more, then i will listen to you :) the strongest weapon is the tempes, dealing 20 dmg per round, 40 freacking round A SECOND. the fastest shooting weapon in the game. It litterally melts trough agents. Play the game more, then judge...sigh
