But It ain't what I'm asking. Lots ? Guides ? Okay ... just WHERE ????????????
Didn't see anything such on the official website, and their forum is just a MESS.
did you feel the urge to post an answer that isn't one or something ?
mean this one ? http://community.gemsofwar.com/t/team-building-guide/1067
won't help anybody... I'm searching for a guide about the basics to build a good team.
Not a detailled guide of the PC version interface I'm on ps4....
- Try to cover all colors with your units. Never waste mana from matches if you can avoid it, even if it means using a unit or weapon that you might otherwise not use.
- Look for units with ways to give you extra turns, bonus for causing damage. Boar Rider is a great example of that. I pretty much always had him on my team early on. The extra turn plus dual color coverage and damage is just super deadly early on. Stick him in slot 3 and feed him mana for some easy wins.
- Always look for abilities that give you ways to create an extra turn. Extra turns can turn hard matchups into easy mode. Goblins are great for this, but if you can't find abilities with extra turn inherent on them, look for row or gem destroyers, those have a pretty decent chance of generating an extra turn for you too when used at the right time.
- I generally avoid color creators because they often leave the opponent with extra turn chances. I'll use them in a pinch, or arena (waves to rock worm) but be prepared to give up some extra turns.
- Dont forget that your hero has the most flexibiliity for color coverage, swap to a different weapon if you are missing coverage from your units even if it isnt your 'best' weapon.
Yeah, that won't help much since it refers to 1.7. I was thinking more along the lines of
http://community.gemsofwar.com/t/team-construction-tips-for-beginners/648
which Ferginomicon basically covered.
There isn't a Search function, true. But it's a lot more active than here and if you either scroll down in the General Chatroom area (for PC, not PS4/XBOX) and/or ask there, you'll probably get lots more personal opinions. But the linked guide and Ferginomicon pretty much covered the basics and theory behind team building, you just have to find the troops you like.
The topic didn't learn me anything, I already care about the orders and colours of my troops.
I like playing color converters, not units that randomly create a few gems of a color on the field (jarl or venoxia do that that's pretty uncontrolable and I hate that, I'd like a total control of my field if possible).
One fun build I made lately was a combo of Shadow Dragon, alchemist, sorcerer and valkyria
