call bombers in

is there is way or can there be added a way to call the bombers in so that they can fly closer
and close the gaps?

AFAIR No. That’s a good idea tho . Some shifting did occur in RL. However, there were also a lot of reasons to stay in formation. Of course, you only have real control over 2 elements or 6 ac in the SC game ( BC only one) . In this sim, when the lead bomber goes down, a new lead takes over. The lead B17 is a priority target for the Germans in the sim as in RL. Are you playing the BC or SC game? In the SC game , the player has more control over the make-up of formations and the game in general.
