Been playing this game on and off since I bought it off-Steam about a year and a half ago, so don't be bothered by Steam saying I've hardly played it.

Second, this is a pretty decent — but also pretty unfair — platformer. Unfair in the sense that, if you're reasonably skilled at platforming, you'll most likely die to randomness (falling eggs, rocks, etc.) way more than anything else. Normally I'd recommend people stay far, far away from games that utilize randomness as a way to increase difficulty, but in this game it works. It works because the randomness fits perfectly in with the game — both thematically and gameplay-wise. And the game is short enough that the random deaths don't become too frustrating. (I realize that that sounded a lot like a backhanded compliment, but I assure you, it isn't meant as such.) It's the kind of game that makes me wish I had friends who were interested in platformers so I could share the experience with them.

Third, the game is hilarious and silly. Stop worrying and learn to love the troof.

Potatoman Seeks the Troof is a short, evil but enjoyable platform. Probably you'll not find any truth at the end of the road, but you'll have a pretty nice (and frustrating 90% chance) experience.

Super Meat Boy's acid-drenched cousin. Brutally difficult. Atari aesthetics backed by a chiptine soundtrack. Elegantly jump your way past a gauntlet of deadly obstacles to reach true enlightenment. Who needs inner peace when we have Potatoman?

Short seemingly random game, which can be debunked after a few tries. It surprises players, and doesn't overstay its welcome.

PStT has seven unique short levels, in which it tries to overwhelm the player with mechanics that can easily be beaten after a few tries. The mechanics are used only once in their version, so there is no repetition.
You have unlimited tries for every level. There is an achievement for beating the game within a set amount of lives for each level.

You're a potatoman, and you're looking for the troof. I have no idea what any of that means! The whole game feels like an inside joke, and nobody cares to inform me! Maybe it's some meme I'm not aware of? I know that a potato can serve as a synonym for a clueless player. And my guess is that the troof equals 'get gut'? If anyone knows, please educate me in the comments!

This game is a memorable experience. On the surface it looks like an impossible game that will tease and mock you, but in the end says: 'Kidding! Got you good uh?' The collection of weirdness definitely doesn't overstay its welcome, and every new screen is a new surprise! Play this for an hour of weird fun, on sale or through a bundle.

In a world where we are constantly busy with and distracted by what's happening, we don't often make it a priority to stop and investigate what is really going on.

Potatoman takes this time, and endures a harrowing platfoming journey to seek out and discover for himself what is the TROOF!

Wisdom and mis-direction is found in all of the characters he encounters. Does anyone actually know the Troof?

While it can be challenging at times, Potatoman Seeks the Troof is rewarding and a lot of fun. There's also a fantastic Soundtrack by Miles Tilmann.

Incredibly short, psychedelically inspired, and charmingly written are the ways I'd describe this deliciously baked, troof seeking trek set forth by a lively potato and his barnyard friend Mr. Cow.

It took an hour to complete the game twice for both achievements. So if that's a deal breaker for you, maybe you just can't handle the troof.

Well, I hated that.

I found this to be an obnoxious little platformer in the '♥♥♥♥ move' vein of games in which cheap shots and "gotcha!" moments make the rules (think 1001 Spikes). At only 5 levels in length, which will probably average to about a 30 minute play for most players, you wouldn't think it would have time to get on my nerves, but it did so very well. For the record, I enjoy short games and don't include the play time in my list of complaints, but that is a very valid issue for a lot of people. 30 minutes, an hour if you want to get both achievements - one for beating the game using continues, one for doing so without. I don't want to play it again.

The gameplay consists entirely of moving left, right, and jumping and platforming around all manner of things that will kill you instantly. I'm fine with that in principle, but this game shows its I-will-betray-and-trick-you cards right off the bat, and you won't trust a pixel in it from there on. It's not impossible nor terribly enjoyable.
Oh, I suppose you can pause, as well. Yeah.

I thought I had no expectations on what "troof" was awaiting, but it yet somehow managed to be disappointingly empty, so I guess it proved me wrong on that minor point. It plainly falls into a thickly clogged vein of similar "stories" and "endings", replete with something I'll uselessly call gamer/internet humor. Not a chuckle from me. Let me lay it all out.
Various NPCs hint vaguely about the "troof", you get to a level that would appear to be a spaceship, collect some pyramids, color happens, your potato stands and waits while making a few facial expressions, and then it lies down to be sucked into the most boring of color/pattern space void trips in what would appear to be some reference to 2001: A Space Oddyssey's still mysterious ending. After that, you reappear in the initial screen as a potato, able to roll around and bounce gently, but blocked entirely by the screen edge to one side and a cactus to the other. How blithe.

Graphics and sound I'll give a No Child Left Behind sort of pass.

Extraordinary game I can not say for sure, but you know, I liked! I walkthrough it in 40 minutes, and was satisfied, psychedelic composed levels, beautiful soundtrack accompanies the entire game, it all reminded me of another era consoles, and nostalgia ran over the body, a very interesting platformer, vaguely reminiscent of Mario, designed levels 6/10

Now, I believe I got this game in a bundle, so price has no influence on my decision. I'd give this game a somewhat lack-luster description of "I wanna be the guy" for the Atari. Now, the game isn't bad, but it is not a game for me. humerous at points, I found the dialogue, well, not very interesting. and the rage-inducing tricks were fun - until they became completely random, with no discernable pattern to allow me to get by. That's where I had a problem. Maybe I'm just bad at the game, but it isn't really my cup of tea. take it for what you will

All in all, if you liked "I wanna be the guy" this game may be for you, but it also may not be. you decide.
