What a nice surprise to see this gem land here! Remember playing this as a kid, got it on GOG earlier this year. I notice on the store page it says single player only... So does the multiplayer not work at all ? :( Thats a shame. Oh well, hello fellow Deadlock fans!

it says " New classifications of victory conditions for solo and multi-player play " in the features list so hopefully it has single and multiplayer

I think those are just the features of Deadlock 2 over Deadlock 1 rather than "steam" features :( Stuff like the new UI and units/tech/buildings/planets etc. The game has multiplayer in it, but its from 1998 and even with Hamachi i couldnt get it to work with the GOG version. So the fact that its not listed on the store page tells me it might just no longer work, still a good game.

Wow indeed! Same reaction as OP: I used to *love* this game back in the day, played it so much, it was so great!
They should make something like this again.. with all the buildings and workers etc.. so nice :)

I'd personally prefer a Fantasy verison of this game since im a little tad teeny bit bias towards Dwarves. Hell, i play Maug because they're the most "Dwarf" like.

Well, it's not the same of course, but it's maybe similar enough that you like it: Age of Wonders 3?
I really liked Deadlock 2 (never played 1), and together with Ascendancy it was one of those games you always came back to. And I like the Sci Fi theme. I've always liked both Fantasy and SF.

I have Age of Wonders 3 :) If it has Dwarves i've most likely played it.
Speaking of which i had to see that battlegrounds game you're in... Of course it has Elves and of course there are no Dwarves, typical.

Heh, just taking a quick look.. I really don't know about that one to be honest.
There was a free game I tried out earlier this week, Pox Nora.. that one has potential, but... I don't know if it has Dwarves :p
I am really wanting to just buy Deadlock 2 right now and start it up.. I guess I'll sleep on it, it's bedtime :), but yeah.. I might actually rebuy it (doubt the old cd still works..), would be a first for me, buying such an old game I already own.

PoxNora is LOADED with Dwarves and i also checked it out and am enjoying it. An amazingly diverse cast that takes full advantage of the Dwarven race, with crazed warriors, drunken hooligans, siege weapons, wise priests, armored elite warriors, zealous paladins, golems and constructs of stone and steel, even stone shifting Dwarves.

I never played DL2, I was a lover of the first, DL1. I really hope they add MP too. I'd buy it in a heart beat if they do. I still have my original Deadlock Disc too. and NetStorm and Gearheads...

I think i played both as a kid, i only played a demo though so it was limited to 30 turns then over =/

I have the first Deadlock,can't play it won't work for me on Windows 7 :( loved the game.

I just added Deadlock 2 Shrine Wars to my wish list :)

Start it up, see if there isn't a MP button in the menu..
